In the entertainment world, Anna Nicole Smith was the number one newsmaker this past year. In my opinion, the biggest news has been about all the product pulls of items made in China. That and the rise of the Canadian dollar becoming par and even exceeding the American dollar.

i think the news on myanmar's series of protest led by the monks tops my list of the most interesting aticles for this year. for the first time, the monks got out of their monasteries and becames involved politically. they voiced their complaints to the military junta that rules the country for 3 decades now. the protests were dispersed violently. but the world saw a glimmer of hope that myanmar will soon be freed from the junta.
