Has anyone done any camping at Cooks Forest State Park in Pennsylvania?

I love the mountains and especially the wonderful trails in Cooks Forest. I was just wondering if anyone else has a favorite trail or part of the park. So far my favorite trail is Longfellow. I also go kayaking on the Clarion River and was looking for some areas that are more secluded so that you can encounter more birds and wildlife. Any information that you would like to share would be appreciated.

I love Cooks Forest! As a child, we spent almost our whole summer there, at Deer Meadow Campground. We had a permanent camper set up there.
As we got older, we sold the camper and started renting a cabin at MacBeth's. That was so nice! We had a canoe so we'd take a relaxing ride down the river and just enjoy ourselves so much!
We haven't camped there in a couple of years, but now you have me thinking about it again!

I will never forget our cooks forest camping trip...it rained so hard my uncle and aunt woke up floating in their tent!
we were lucky and got to stay in the pop-up trailer with my parents so we didn't wake up wet...our camper caught on fire though from the wiring shorting!!
I was a little kid, maybe 8 or so...I don't remember too much about trails or nature!!
I think you would like Laurel Hill State Park in Somerset if its not too far...they've got great trails and nature...waterfall, lake, it's gorgeous.

Never have been to Cooks. I have been to Francis Slogam State Park near Pocono's. Loved that State Park. Quiet, peaceful, and very hilly!
