Do you exercise? Do you believe it is safer to surf the channels rather than waves?
My uncle Hamish was 46 and overweight. He swore to turn his life around. In the space of three months he gave up the drink, gave up smoking and lost 2 stone in weight.
He told us that this would add years to his life. Last week he was out jogging when he ran out in front of a number 36 bus and now lies 6 feet under. Now technically, he died as a direct result of exercising so i for one will be a couch potato. if i want exercise i can put on baywatch.

I think if you want to excercise it's better to go to a sportsschool or fitnesscentre.
They know exactly what is safe and what's not safe.
If someone loses weight too much it can be dangerous. It doesn't have to be that quick allthough we want to,but being too fast can kill you.
I want to lose weight too and i want to excercies but i will go to the fitness centre or to the doctor to do a checkup which excercises are good for me and which aren't.

Crikey! I think I will stick to typing! And the housework, at least I can be safe in my house doing that. If I want proper exercise, then I'll switch to the Discovery channel and watch the lions stalk the zebras.

I guess you need to know your limitations for exercise; Don't overdo and perhaps not too much, particularly if one has not exercised for a while. But you need to balance your diet with exercise to keep things in balance...

At least he'd lost the 2 stone...although I have no idea how much that is...people on the bus could have been injured otherwise....Look at it this way, maybe he didn't die as a direct result of HIM exercising but rather as a direct result of other people NOT exercising, after all if those people on the bus had walked instead none of it would have ever happened.

I think people against exercise are just lazy! Sure you can get hurt, I pulled a muscle in my neck while weight training once. It was extremely painful and I ended up with a neck brace for a week.
Come to think of it I was making my evening meal one day and I cut my finger! It had to stay bandaged and not very functional for a week! So don't say an accident means something should not be done, if not I would never eat again!
Exercise not only keeps you healthy but it makes you feel good. Your body releases endorphines when you are exercising, which will make you feel a lot better than a stupid sugar rush from candy or sweets.
The more exercise you do, the more energy you have which allows you to do more things in life. If you want to enjoy life to the most, be healthy and go out and do whatever interests you. If that happens to be t.v. or spending your day on a computer then fine but you are missing out on LIFE!
