I don't have a TV in my room, but if I had one it would stay off for sure. I can't manage to bear even a small light source while I'm in bed, so I definitely couldn't stand a tv on.

I used to do that. It's not weird at all. It gives comfort to the person who likes to fall asleep with the tv on, but it saves energy and does allow for better sleep later in the night.

I have finally learned to sleep without the tv on. My husband cannot stand a tv on when he is trying to sleep, but for years I pretty much got my way and we had it on. About a year ago it started bothering me, too. Now we don't have a tv in our room at all. It's nice because there is no temptation.

I have to admit that the sleep quality is better without the tv in the bedroom.
I would never be able to sleep in a seperate bed from my husband. There have been times I've considered it, though! No matter how much you love someone there are just times that you want all the blankets for once. :)
