Firstly, why are they saying you need a c section? The only time they recommend it is in multiples, if there is an infection or your baby is too big in relation to your pelvic size. I've never had one, but there is a parenting site i am with that you could get some help from. http://www.minti.com/

thank you i will defintely look into that website, im having complications with high blood pressure swelling etc and im at the drs 4x a week for stress tests and if one happens to not look so good they will have to send me right over for a emergerncy c section and right now they are saying my odds are looking more like i will have one not to mention the baby is breeched so if she doesnt turn soon then theres another reason!

Yes, high blood pressure, or really prolonged labor causes C-sections.

You don't have to NEED a C Section in order to have one, you can choose to have them these days. I had one due to my pelvis being broken when i was 16 & although it wasn't necessary, i chose to have it. They wont know if your baby is too big to fit through until you actually try & they have to do an emergency C/S. So there's no law that says you have to give birth naturally - it's the mother's choice :)

I had a section for my little boy. They will only do this if your baby really is at risk. If you are going to do stress test nine times out of ten your baby will get to stressed while trying to push and its heart beat will drop. I had to have mine because I was in labor for 17 hours and my son got the cord wrapped around his neck, sholder and leg. My scare is right below my bikini line so if you where a bikini look at where the top hits you and it will be about an inch down. and it is about 3 to 4 inches long not very big concerding that they pulled a nine pound baby through there. I was numb for about 6 to 8 hours and was sore for about two or three days due to the staples. I remember gas pains being worse than the actuall scoreness from the scare. I was up and around the next day just a little slow. By a week i was pretty much back to normal except for lifting things. Make sure you ask your doctor about any concerns well before the procudre. Good Luck and I hope I helped you a little.

They will do them electively. Both of my sister's kids and my brother's first wife had c-sections and they just wanted them. There was no medical reason to get one. Just tell your doctor you want one and he or she will write it up as medically necessary so the insurance company will pay for it.

I had a c-section on Friday, December 21 because my little girl was breech. The pain has been minimal for me (the worst is actually now, since the nerves are growing back together...but not bad enough for pain meds). My incision is a good 8 inches long and it's horizontal below where my underwear sits, but the doctor told me that it will shrink a bit as it heals. I had a spinal block during the procedure, so I really didn't feel a thing. Even the pressure that I felt during the surgery wasn't much. I was up and walking around the day of the surgery. I had my staples taken out 3 days after and that was completely painless as well. I think the worst part of having a c-section was just fear of not knowing what it would be like. I'm sure it's different for every person, but I assure you that you have no reason to be afraid of the pain. Just make sure you follow the doctor's orders for aftercare and you will be just fine. Best of luck with your c-section if that's what's needed!

Let me tell it it is the best way to have kids, lol.I went through 16 hours of labour with my first child only to dilate 1 centimeter, isnt that depressing?Since then I havehad 3 c sections and each one gets better and better. In fact after i had the second and third baby I didnt even feel like I had had a baby,it was that good. The first c section was a little rough on me because I didnt know what to expect but in a week or two everything was fine.Dont worry about the scar its very light and its under your panty line so it wont show in bikinis or anything. My scar is hardly visible and once you take care of it after the c section it should heal fine.If you do end up having one just dont over do it after you get home from the hospitaland no over reaching, driving, stretching or heavy lifting. You dont need to hurt your cut or get it infected.Just follow doctors orders and you should be fine.
