Ok, they say a problem shared is a problem halved. So here goes.... im feeling a bit angry and upset. Someone (a colleague and friend) has basically asked me to give them something for nothing. Litterally to pay them back, for previous assistance to help them out with money at the moment. Ok, we all know that people at work take pens home, take days off for no reason etc. And friends who you love but it always seems you pay for lunch...But if i understand this person he is asking me to go further. I was really shocked and obviously rejected the notion but it has left me feeling sad and uncomfortable. I think my colleague feels that he has done lots of bits and pieces which have not been accounted for. I told him, he should just write down what he thinks he is owed. He argued but eventually agreed. It just feels like some people in life always take and other people always give. What do you all think.. am i a mug? am i too soft? or maybe i just am getting a bit worked up over nothing. Anyone????

Well, I think you just have the problem of the ability to refise the uncommon questions. Also,it's a hard problem for me and others who pour their sensity in the friendship.
To pay for lunch for your friends,I think them should stand on our commercial state. If the one that request is at the time your business in trouble,we should refuse it by explaining the reason. And if he leave you for this,it's your lucky because a friend like him is helpless for me.
