Welcome to myLot! The level you will see beside your username is your interest rank.
Interest rankings are a way to measure how well myLot users are perceived by the community within a particular interest.
The levels does not necessarily mean you will get more money; however, it will denote that you're actively participating and responding to a particular topic that interest you most. :-)

Mylot levels basically shows you how active you are in any particular interest group. The higher your level, the more active you are in that particular interest. It also matches you up with all of the other mylot users by way of rank. If you notice, when you look at your interest, you see a number, seperated by a hash mark, then another number. That basically tells you how active you are, out of everyone else in that particular interest. If you have any other questions about mylot levels, they have loads of information in their FAQs.

Levels don't get more money, they are just telling how frequently you've been posting in a topic. The more postings you have, the higher the level. For a beginner that would feel strange, don't worry about it keep posting and you'll pair to the others soon enough.
