I have been looking for new books to read becuase most of the books I have read are series and I am all caught up on them and just waiting for the author to write the new book. So my fellow mylotters what types of books to you like and what authors are good? This way I might be able to try something new to read. Thank you ahead of time.

I'm so glad you asked! For starters, let me suggest Louise Erdrich, my favorite author. Then, anything by Isabel Allende, a book called Fall on Your Knees by Marie MacDonald will knock you out - it's a huge book in more ways than one. Barbara Kingsolver is also a top favorite - anything by her is worth reading, but my I suggest The Poisonwood Bible. It too is an intense read. If you like any of these, I can recommend lots more. Happy reading!

You are most entirely welcome. I think that without books, I'd go crazier than I am. I'm looking for a new one to buy tomorrow. If I find anything good, I'll let you know.

Wow, there are a lot of suggestions I have never heard of on here. That is great, expand all of our horizons :-) Of course I love Dean Koontz except for Icebound, that was horrible! Debbie Macomber I absolutely love anything by her. Umm, not sure how to spell their last name, but Perry O'shaunessy has a great series called the Nina Reilly series. Frank Peretti has some good books as well. For some self-help books, Deepok Chopra has some good ones
