So, here's my question...when you train in something so that you can get a job and/or start a career, how the hell are you supposed to get started if they all require six months experience? You have to get the job to get experience, but you need the experience to get the job. So, if you're a recently graduated Medical Transcriptionist, where the HECK are you supposed to start?!!!!

My suggestion is to volunteer in a Dr.'s office and or hospital. I do not know what a Medical Transcriptionist does exactly but I am a SR. in college and they tell us all the time that the key to getting jobs and stuff is internships. Those are hard to get also because so many people want them. They are worth the hassle though. I hope that this helps. ~Shemaiah~

I concur. As far as training goes, your classes that relate to the position requirement.

Apply anyways. Make note that you are a recent grad. Employers are more forgiving of a lack of experience if they know you just recently graduated. You could also look into other transcription fields other than medical. That might be helpful. Good luck!

Ah, nothing like a catch 22. I had the exact same experience when I finally received my Medical Transcription certificate. I got aggravated with it and moved to another field.:)
