I love creating new things for bland photos. I can take any photo and make it special. In this image montage, it shows the original photo and how I created a faux oil painting with it. If your interested in my services, please let me know.
So, here's a place to share some of your digital creations- upload them and share them with us!

If you want to learn to do this, there are a lot of tutorials out there on using Photoshop.

Nice! What is your specialty and do you do it as a business?

Really anyone can do that with a photo editing program. I have several and all of them can change a photo into an oil painting or water color or a hundred other things. The art is in cutting out the image like you did (which can take some technique).
But a lot of people don't have the patience to do it so kudos to you for making the time. I like to play around with digital art once in awhile if I can't find anything else to do. I do digital scrapbooking and created websites (that I never publish). I just enjoy it.

That's good that you take the time to really work the art.
I have thought about using the computer to make some money but I don't have the energy or time to devote to it. I like to play around in my free time, though. My favorite thing to do with pictures is blur them to make them look more dreamy. I did that once with a photo I took of my son when he was 18 months old. The picture was horrid. The lighting was really harsh. I blurred it a little to match the mood on his face and loved it. My dad thought I was nuts (he is a traditionalist when it comes to photos). I still love that picture. My new avatar is another of my son. I turned it black and white and blurred it to mathc the mood.

That's true- but I do think there is an art to creating the brush strokes and colors. I don't go in for just dumping something through a filter. Since I am also an oil painter, I actually use my mouse as sort of a brush for creating textures.
Why not use your talents to create a business for yourself?

That's lovely! I also find that you can take a bad, pixelated or dark photo and revamp it by using Photoshop and few good techniques. There's nothing more satisfying than taking one of those green tinted dark digital photographs and blowing it up to a good printable size and applying some filters to make it really interesting.

by the way, do you have any idea what the size requirements are for photos placed in a discussion? I noticed yours are pretty small too. When I uploaded the same montage to my profile, it came up full size. I almost seems that i the sizes on different graphics care kind of random, doesn't it?

What is it that you do now? Have you ever tried to retouch old photos? Now that can be tricky. I've been working on several, just for fun.

I love creating digital art and show it to my friends. It's cool. I made digital arts just from dooodle and scribbles from my sketchpad. I love to draw and I can't believe my drawings transformation when done with photoshop.

I like to create something but when then not with Photoshop because I don't want to buy it, I like to use GIMP, here is one of my best works done with a few tutorials http://www.picable.com/Nature/Sky/Space/Sterbender-Planet.11200
It's may be true that photoshop is better but that doesn't make it more friendly to me, I just hate to buy software because if it's crap you can't bring it back to get your money back. Thats why freeware like gimp is more friendly to me ^^
