Lately we have been having a hard time finding our usually sociable cat Lollipop. We call and call for him and he doesn't come like he used to, that's when I walked into the laundry room to throw some clothes inthe dryer and low and behold, there was Lollipop just hanging out in the dryer sound asleep. After watching in for a few more weeks we learned that everytime we left the dryer door open the dryer was now Lollipo's favorite place to hang out even if it's not warm from being used.
Does anyone have any pets with little quirks like this. I'm always checking the dryer everytime before I use it now even if the door was closed just in case the cat is in there I don't want him to spin at permanent press, LOL!

I noticed the fact that you said Charlie is a kitten. I have 4 of them now that are from a stray that I'm taking care of. They're out in my garage because it's like 19 below zero now and they need to be protected. I'm also taking care of their momma. (she came before her babies). My hubby doesn't like it but I bring them in 1 at a time and let them in the house w/ me. Aren't they great. At first Lolli didn't want anything to do w/ them but is now checking them out. It's really cute. By the way New Years Eve was really boring here, what about you?

My family's cat use to do that. Dad said it was to keep warm but who knows. Maybe it's primal instinct to find a burrow of some sort to sleep in. Anyhow, my dad closed the dryer door out of habit and didn't realize poor Blue was in there. If I recall the poor kitty was in there for a few hours before my dad had passed by it again and heard the dryer going "Meow! Meow!". I don't believe Blue has gone into the dryer since.
Don't worry. If the door was shut, you will hear your feline meow. Though then again ours is part Siamese and very vocal... Anyhow, the cat will jump out as soon as the door opened again.

Well, that sounds like a nice cozy place to get away to to get some peace. I love the name Lollipop. My cat like to snuggle behone things or in things like the couch cushions and you don't know she is there till she meows. she also like to hide behind the trash can and in the bathtub or snuggle behind the pillows on a bed. She is a very loving cat. I think it would be cute if she would get in the dryer but since ours is in the hallway (we live in a trailer.) we have to keep it closed at all times or the door would possibly be knocked off in my house. I love kittens, I am hoping that mine will be haviing kittnes soon she is a calico gray, peach, and white and the tomcat is siamese gray and brown. thought that make some cute kittens.

Forgot to add that she likes the toy box as well and one the bottom shelf of the microwave stand. She also likes to prance infront of the mirror and talk(meow) to her self or what she thinks is another cat. When she was a kitten she was always crawling in my husbands work boots. It was so cute, don't ask me how she could stay in there, much less sleep..lol

We had a little tiny female cat that just showed up inour yard one day last August. She was so skinny that you could actually see her spine and hip bones sticking out. I called her and she came to me and that's when I noticed it looked like she had kittens very recently. So, I started to feed her everyday and she kept coming back everyday. Then in like Sept. I was looking out the living room window into the backyard and there were 5 tiny little kittens. So, I started to feed them too. Now they all stay here. They aren't in the house though. Since it's very cold here now, I let them outside during the day for a few hours and then call them back into the garage at night. The garage is attached to the house and we made a special little house for them completel with carpeting and insulation. Now they're part of the family.~D

My cat is very social, he sleeps in my bed with me though not by invitation. he sneeks into bed when am deep asleep. During the day, he is in closed doors while am working in the office miles away. He plays with me alot when I come back home. My hand/fingers and toes are full of scratches lol.
I like your Lollipop though it is dangerous in the dryer. Be careful though.

I remember one time my mother told me of her childhood. She had this cat that would follow her everywhere, and she sometimes felt embarrased over it. It even happened a few times that the cat followed her to school, once the principal lifted the cat and had it on his desk during class.

When I was growing up we had a coal fired range which included an oven. We never used the oven for cooking, but old newspapers used to get shoved in there and it got quite warm in there when the fire was lit which it was all the time during the day, winter and summer. Our cats used to love it because it was so warm in there and it was not uncommon to open the door and find the interior packed out with cats (we had 7 at one time). Cats love such cosy little hidaways.

That is cute. Lollipop loves the dryer, specially after you dry a load of clothes, I bet. lol Simba, who is bout 6mo. old now, hates being cold and will do anything to be warm. He was snuggled up directly in front of the fire in the living room one night, trying to stay warm when hubby picked him up and tucked him under his hoodie. After playing a bit, he settled down for what ended up being a 3hr. nap, warm as can be. Now he always wants in our shirts whenever he's cold. He'll jump up on my desk and paw at my shirt while purring up a storm. I lift my sweatshirt and he crawls right under, plays a bit, then snuggles up for a nap. We always wear t-shirts under sweatshirts/hoodies in the winter and that where he wants to be, between the shirts. lol This is a pic of him in my hubby's shirt playing peek-a-boo b4 settling in for a nap.

cats are such a hoot! I caught ours, a few days ago, rock climbing.
you see - we have one wall in our living room that is completely done in native rocks from floor to ceiling - she zig zagged her way up - finding foot holds along the path - right to the ceiling. I was surprised she did not just fall to get down, but actually climbed most of the way before letting loose.

I love this story, we have a cat and a dog and I love to hear other people's stories. The funniest thing our cat has ever done was jump up on the keyboard of my computer while I was trying to work. A few days ago, however, he started wanting to jump around on the different pieces of furniture in mine and my husband's bedroom. It is really funny to see him as he tries to decide where he wants to take a nap. The funniest place is on top of the entertainment center. He will get up there and lay down until I turn off the light in our bedroom then he will take a big leap and land on our bed LOL. He is a bundle of fun!! His name is Wilbur.
