as i read this book of "one last wish" by Lurlene Mcdaniel, these questions come out of my mind... what if you found out that you only have six months to live? and you found this letter accompanied by check with worth $100,000? what would you do? how did you spend the money?... this is the letter... Dear ______, You don't know me, but i Know about you, and because I do, I want to give you a special gift. Accompanying this letter is a certified check, my gift to you with no strings attached to spend on anything you want. No one knows about this gift except you, and you are free to tell anyone you want. Who I am Isn't really important, only that only you and I have much in common. Through no fault of our own, we have endured pain and isolation and have spent many days in a hospital feeling lonely and scared. I hoped for a miracle, but most of all, I hoped for someone to truly understand what I was going through. I can't make you live longer. I can't stop you from hurting, but I can give you one wish, as someone did for me. My wish helped me find purpose, faith, and courage. Friendship reaches beyond time, and the true miracle is in giving, not receiving. Use my gift to fulfill your wish. Your Forever Friend, J.W.C. Note: the letter is from that book also...

First off let me say the books by Lurlene McDaniel are great! I ahve read all of them. Second in asnwer to your question I would spend as much time with my family and friends and I would use the money to make sure my hubsand didn't have to worry about anything for as long as possible.

If the letter was valid with no strings attached, I would be skeptical. Seems interesting that someone would want to send me $100,000 because I was sick and dying. I'd be on guard but would go to our bank and attempt to find out if the check was good. If so, it would be shared with our kids and grandkids. Only 6 months to live and it was diagnosed by two or three different doctors, I'd make sure our assets and investments were in order. My husband would be the beneficiary of my life insurance policy so that would be taken care of properly. Any "fun" money in my account would be given to our kids. Already have that account in order. I would do a couple of things for myself. Would spend lots of time playing Keno at the casinos and would fly to visit my biological father and meet his 3 grown sons who I haven't met yet. Top of the list would be to fly to Arizona and see our youngest daughter and her kids and spend as much time as I can with them. Happy New Year, carolbee

I think for me to donate my earnings or money to Charity. Doing good will is the best thing to do before you die.

With just six months to live, and that much money i'd probably take half of that, and spend it on things ive always wanted to do. Skydive, bungee jump, rock climb. Id even buy myself certain things to make life a little more enjoyable and spend time with those that make it better for me.

A truely Moving letter if you asked for my comment-just six month to live with $100,000 on my account? I will want to leave my kids with a lease of life-spend most of the time with them to teach them how to be tough surjourners of this world-people who can keep alive against all odds, but together as a family people who fear God,-i would give them the check and urge them to be wise when am gone-I will sharpen my spiritual life strengthen my faith and prepare to meet my maker. Seeking for forgiveness from those I wronged would be another way to go! i would then want to die in a quiet lonely place!

Wow what a thought provoking idea. I guess I would put some of the money into trust for my children so that I knew they would be taken care of financially. I would go on a really fantastic holiday with my close family and try and make it is fun and happy as possible so that they would always have the memory of us all being happy. I would also write lots of letters or make videos for the kids to guide them through their lives and offer advice so that they ould still feel a connection to me. Above all I would try and be grateful for what I had been given previously and make the most of what time I had left by spending it with the people who matter most.

I would probably try and pay off all my debts so that my family wouldn't have to deal with them when I was gone. If I had any money left over take that to helping paying for the college education of a close family member like my little brother or if it was in the far future, any children or nieces and nephews I had.
