I don't know that fruit originates but the island where I live is abound so much. I have eaten it and likes it cold with condensed milk. I like durian candy as well. Most people hates its smell and cna't take the taste as well. But durian also contains large amount of cholesterol which is not good for people with hypertension.

I think its not only from Indonesia because I also have durian in my country. May be it is suit to call as a tropical fruit. I love durian very much and I just can't avoid them when the season is coming. We eat durian in some different ways in my country. We can eat them freshly from it shell or ferment it to make a 'tempoyak' which later can be eaten with some other main dish for lunch or dinner. Some peoples also will use durian as a flavor in their food such as green beans porridge, cake, ice cream etc. Eating too much durian will makes your body heat increase, so it is better to drink a lot of water whenever you eat durian.
