I can be a real crusty old dodger at times. i moan about the younger generation and thier lack of ethics and respect. But i must say i am rather taken with the conduct of the mylot community. Dashed lovely people who are considerate and learned. Even the non english speaking folk are delightful with thier grasp of old blighty and kindness to others.
Why is it that when i go for a walk i see roughuns hanging about street corners but i only see the positive side on mylot?

People who socialize on myLot are able to entertain themselves with computers. Skill with computers is a sophisticated thing, as are computers themselves. The street toughs you see out and about have little to do beyond smoking, drinking, sniffing, shooting up garbage, listening to loud music, and getting into fights...hardly civilized, let alone sophisticated.

By the way, I can appreciate the company of a "crusty old dodger." There are priceless and timeless lessons long forgotten because of dumb-and-youngsters like myself who can't find the time to listen to what you have to say. And those of us who find that time look like geniuses in front of our friends. ;)

Wouldn't be a bad idea. You know? I've just had a bit of a thought. Rather than put criminals in jail, and let the taxpayers pay for them to sit around on a bunk; draft them! They say jail is supposed to be a "correctional" facility, yet they also say that eighty-something percent of of inmates go back. A lot of it has to do with unemployment, the rest a lack of discipline. The services could fix BOTH of these problems!

cause those rotten kids on the corners have nothing to entertain themselves with because their parents let them run rampid in the street! lol.
If you keep your kids busy, then they dont have time to get into trouble do they?
Those ones that are out on the street probably ARE up to no good. . i know at that age i was up to no good. lol. but i never disrespected anyone, or caused trouble for anyone that i remember, at least not intentionally.

Politeness comes in various degrees within cultures and diversity of race or ethnicity and especially when a learned young man of 87 comes waltzing by with a plethora of information based on experience making him an expert, some disciples cringe . . . The positive side flourishes for the simple platform that it is served with manners, etiquette, compassion, integrity and those that contribute forge ahead with decency, literacy, authenticity, much creativity and such voracity, I learn so much just conversing with them as often as possible.
Good to meet you wise ole' man . . .
sharing the light and happy holidays,

Hello jeffery_7614203
I have noticed the respect of the peoples on the myLot as well. Most of the people are so nice. There are some mean spirited peoples here, too, but for most of the parts, the peoples they are nice and respectful.
Sometimes when we are driving through what is commonly referred to as the seedier parts of the town, we see the hooligans on the streets, but when we engage in the talk with them, they are not as spooky as they are the looking.
