Would anyone like to have an actual discussion/conversation?

I'm new to MyLot and I understand the reasons for the infinite number of "what's your favorite color" posts and "I like chicken, what do you think" posts, but I would like to find people who want to pick a topic and have an actual back and forth conversation about it. I don't know if that would make any of us money, but I would be happy to make new friends and have more meaningful conversations. I'd rather have 10 good friends to post with than 100,000 "what's your sign" friends.
Looking forward to your responses,
JoyceRenee

Looks like you might have some new friends JoyceRenee, and a lot of discussion/conversations to respond to.
Thanks by the way for posting in my 'caring' discussion. Just what your and my posts are about.
I'm always up for discussion/conversation.
Just pick a topic. It's not like we don't have a lot of choices.
I'm an old fool sometimes and have a lot of opinions on things but I'll always respond and/or comment.
I'll be looking for your discussions. Later tater.

Your friends list will grow as fast as your post numbers do I'm sure. Hang in there. I'll look forward to your discussions.

Hello JoyceRenee,
I would love to have an "actual" back and forth conversation. I guess you consider some of the discussions too simple at times. Well I don't know just how much we have in common; but I am one that has a wide variety of discussions. Maybe we can get to know each other individually within the mylot community; and I can be someone who you have "actual" back and forth conversations with. Have a Happy New Year and take care.

Hi! I'd like to get to know another MyLotter. Other people have told me that they've made good friends through MyLot, so I'm looking forward to that. I think/hope I'm on my way. I love all of the responses that I've gotten. I'm on the computer and on MyLot at all hours of the day and night, and it seems that at certain times, users will start a dozen discussions that contain only one line or just a statement and the question, "what do you think?" I don't believe they really care what I think. Which there is nothing wrong with that. I just went looking for like minded people who enjoy engaging in an expanded dialogue. ;) Happy New Year to you as well. Be safe, be happy.

Those of us who like to have real discussions are around, you just have to know where to look.
I often find myself spending much of my mylot time watching discussions I've already posted to for replies, so that I can keep the discussion going. I've also been known to spend hours following around and commenting on posts of my close friends here, or having long involved conversations on topics that interest me.
Since no one knows exactly how the pay scale works, I've found what works for me is just having fun and not worrying about the money. Unlike some others here, I've never not made payout for a month, so I figure my strategy must be working okay.

It is a great way to get to know people. I have several mylot friends that I consider real friends and depend on just as I would any other friend. :)
I've been here almost a year now, and I've found that I'm pretty good at getting around now. It does take a while to read things others have written, so I'll usually pick one friend at a time and stalk them for a bit that day, just checking out things they've said and commenting, usually making a post on the discussion myself while I'm there. :)

That's the same conclusion that I have come to. Just have fun with it. I also find that I like to spend the time continuing on with discussions I've started. I only have a few friends right now, but it still takes time to go through and read some of their previous posts. Seems that is a good way to get to know someone.

Hello and Welcome JoyceRenee!!
I am glad to find someone that thinks the same way as I do. Sometimes that's a hard thing to do. If you'd like to be friends, add me and we can conversate on basically any topic you'd like. Be aware though, those out here that are just here for the money won't be the ones that keep in touch like they say they will. Smile!!
Take care and I hope to hear from you soon.
Happy New Year!!

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I added you as a friend so I should be showing up in your friends now. I'm beginng to catch on and be able to identify those that are here solely for the money and those that actually like the discussions. It's not wrong to want the money, I just like some substance with my dough. LOL Happy New Year to you as well. Be safe, be happy.

I'm new also and let me tell you that it was hard to find something worth responding to. But I do hope that you can choose a topic that is worth having a conversation about. I'll be watching to see what you post next...and by the way "my sign" is I'm a Sagittarius, how about you?

I'm a newbie, too and would love to get to know you and have interesting, meaningful discussions. I love to write and have written for other boards, but none of them were as much fun as this one. Everyone is very friendly with postings coming from all over the world. Although money can be earned it comes secondary to the comradeship I have found here. Welcome.

Hi! Welcome to you as well. I have to agree that the money is secondary. I love to write as well. Someone mentioned a site call Helium that publishes articles on the web. If you haven't already done so, it might be worth a look. I am working on some stories to submit to them. I really am pleasantly surprised at how friendly MyLotters are. I used to belong to email groups and it seemed that there were constant flame wars. I gave up on them years ago and this is my first attempt at interacting with a commumity. I'm glad I haven't seen that here.

I much prefer meaningful discussions to things that require a few words only. I try to start interesting discussions. Sometimes I succeed. I am a very quizzical person. If I think of something perplexing, I think that maybe others would like to help me find the answer. For example, I started a discussion about what makes pink lemonade pink. I also like to give and receive advice. I would love to add you as a friend if you can put up with me.

So, what makes pink lemonade pink? I have to know now. LOL Sure, I'd like to be added as your friend. I'm sure I can put up with you. What remains to be seen is if you can put up with me. :)

Sounds like a good idea to me, but I doubt the money-hungry bunch will be interested. Anyway I'll be watching for your posting! Have a Happy New Year, and I'll be your friend if you wanna add me! Ta Ta for Now!

You will find there are members here who like to have actual discussions and some who don't. It's quite an odd mixture to say the least. Once you have a few friends on your list and start discussions that are meaningful you will be having conversations but I have to tell you that you will also be getting a lot of one line responses as I'm sure you have already noticed. Welcome to mylot....I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.

Welcome to mylot. You have made a wonerful choice.well since you are a newbie I must warn you sometimes you will see those pesky what is you favorite color questions and YES I am guilty for one or two but you will also find some discussions about very personal issues which some take very seriously so it just depends what you come upon. I am sure though that you will not regret signing up and that with time you will find freinds you are intellectually capable of holding a conversation past what is their favortite color.. LOL!! HAve fun!!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm already finding that searching for the friends is half the fun. They say it's the journey that counts.

Welcome to MyLots JR. As a relatively new subscriber, I find myself scanning "today's top discussions" and "discussions from my interest" each time I log on,looking for meaningful discussions. I prefer topics that I'm knowledgeable about, something where I can make a positive contribution. I will be looking for your future post and perhaps join you in a conversation.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I respond to a discussion and find myself wanting to have a back and forth discussion. It's not that it's impossible either.A few times I have went back and added to the discussion.

I am game. I love the discussions on My Lot and do respond as much as I can to them. I usually pick topics that are of interests to me. Good luck, and I will be looking for your posts.
