CSI: When will it be Grissom's turn?

Hello CSI fans. I was just thinking last night about how bad things seemed to have happened to all of the main characters, except Grissom.
Sara was tormented by the miniature killer and left out in the desert to die.
Nick was buried alive by that wacko guy and had bugs crawling all over him.
Katherine was date raped, her daughter was kidnapped and her father was killed right in front of her.
Greg had the crap beat out of him from that gang of hooded wackos.
So, what's happened to Grissom? Did I forget something from a previous show? I didn't watch from Day #1, but I've got all the DVDs, and have watched them all. Is there something I'm missing?
Even Brass had a problem, and that jerk Eckley ended up with his job.
Help me out CSI fans!!!

Also this is the most recent is that Sara left Grissom behind to go find a better life or something (not to sure on that one). I haven't been home to watch much tv especially that show but I get the heads up from a friend on whats going on.

Grissom's problem was quite serious as he thought his job was over. He didn't think he would be able to live deaf and had corrective surgery on the show. Grissom's mother was deaf.

That's true, but they didn't seem to really focus that much on Grissom and his problem, like they've done with all of the other characters' problems. Katherine was the only other CSI to know about it to, as she went to see him in the hospital - it was all kept pretty hush-hush to the others though, so I think it made it seem like it was less of a big deal than what they went through.

He took the sabbatical so that he could do some theater work, that's why he wasn't on the show for those few weeks. He requested the time off and that's how they wrote it into the script. But, I do see where you're coming from, so thanks for the comments.

Katherine wasn't actually dae raped, it was just set up to make her think she had been to scare her. But you're right Grissom hasn't had anything big CSI related happen to him that I can think of. I suppose the torment of the job itself could count for something because of his position on the team, and his involvement with Lady Heather whose daughter was tortured and killed causing Lady Heather to attemt the same with her killer since it was Grissom her caught her in the act.

I didn't know that Katherine wasn't really date raped. Wasn't his DNA found and she was able to find out that he was the same guy that kidnapper her daughter and/or killed her father? I don't remember hearing or seeing anything about it being a set-up. How was that done? What was said? I'm confused!

I don't remember the details I just know the make shift rape kit she did on herself came back negative. Maybe she found DNA on something else in the room? I don't remember how that connection was made.

Grissom went deaf due to his condition. He had to have surgery to repair it.
That's the only "bad" thing I can think of that has happened to him. But when Sara was missing, it affected him in a bad way. He realized how much he loved Sara and it hurt him to think that the nutty girl had her and the nutty girl refused to tell Grissom or anyone where she went.

Thanks UnselfishShellfish, I forgot about that. But to me, that didn't seem to be as bad as what everyone else has gone through. I also forgot to put the part in there about what's going on now with Warrick. Thanks for reminding me about the part of him going deaf.
