How Will You Use Those Gift Cards??

We all recieve them these days, so I wondered.. How many people really enjoy recieving them and how will you use yours? Will you go out and buy something you NEED or splurge and buy something you just WANT?? As for myself I LOVE gift cards, and ask for them every year.. It has take some time for my family to figure out that I WANT them and not just too lazy to make a "real" Christmas list ;-) This year I got lucky.. I recieved serveral gift cards.. a gas card from my employer (a welcome gift), two cards for area restaurants that I love, a grocery card, 3 WalMart cards and a ousewares store card.. I use my cards (except for the gas and grrocery ones) to buy things I would not usually justify buying, but which I love.. a nice deep fat fryer, an ice cream freezer, a dehydrator.. I could ask for these things but a gift card lets me choose just the 'right one' for me.. I plan to go to the restaurants very soon.. the housewares card I will use this spring as I will be moving. Think my family has finally gotten the message, this year I got a whole stack of gift cards, and I am thrilled.. lol.

I feel for you Christmastime babies.. my brother's is ew years eve, he always used to get shorted on bd gift too.. now we make sure he gets one less gift from each person so he gets proper bd gifts lol.. often the person will be shopping for an xmass gift and think, 'I'll spend a little more on so-and-so and call it a xmas/bd gift'.. but in reality I really believe I'd rather get a regular xmas gift AND a bd gift..

I told my sister that I needed a new pair of shoes (and that it was going to be expensive) so a gift card from the shoe store I wanted them from was what I wanted. I also got a gift card from my favorite book store! I've already gone in & ordered the shoes - with the $100 gift card, it still cost $40, but that is still a GREAT deal! I'm planning to hit the book store soon!
