Burger King Potato Chips

Did you know that Burger King had potato chips? Well niether did I. I just had some and believe me, the name speaks for itself. They are called "Ketchup & Fries" flavored potato snacks. And surprisingly enough, that is exactly what they taste like. I have been seeing them in a local vending machine for a little while and I finally decided to taste them and they are really good. I would not be surprised if they made this a part of some kind of Burger King lunchable for kids. Take it from a self proclaimed junk food junkie, if I like it, any kid would will like it too. On the back of the bag it says something about "Fifty Years Of Perfection," if I am not mistaken they are speaking about how long the Whopper has been around. Hey, I never knew the Whopper was so much older than me, cool. Maybe, they came out with the chips to celebrate the Whopper. And how come they don't sell the chips at the resturant? I have never seen them there or even advertised there. Seems like they would go really well with the old burger. All I know is this is the only time I don't mind my fries not being hot.

That's just it, they don't have them. I live right next door to a Burger King (unfortunately) and I have never seen the chips there. The next time I go, I plan to ask them why they don't carry them.

I would ask them too....good idea. Might be a good thing for them to add like you said to the kids meals.

Hmmm, I have never heard of this. You think they would sell them at the restaurant. I just looked them up and to me they look kinda gross. Thanks for sharing.

Don't let the look fool you. If you like Ketchup with your fries, you will love them.

Unfortunately, they are not being sold here. That isn't surprising since chains usually try out new items in big cities to gauge the feedback. They sound delicious, and you're right, it is odd they don't sell them at their owon restaurants. I am crazy about Burger King's breakfast croussaints. I like all their breakfast items, but for some reason the rest of the menu doesn't appeal to me.

For some reason, to me, fast food resturants are really good at making breakfast foods taste great. But then the rest of the menu suffers. It may be because a lot of the things on the breakfast menu have to be made fresh, LOL.

I saw those chips in the vending machine where I work. I wont be trying them though.I do not like ketchup at all. My favorite chips are dill pickle flavored ones.I do wonder why they don't offer the chips in the restaurants. Maybe they are just testing the market right now.

I have never heard of dill pickled chips. If you don't like Ketchup, you will hate them, for sure.

I remember hanging out at the new Bufger King and having a whopper for the first time. Gee, and you could order exactly how you wanted it. The year was 1967. I have not had a whopper in probably 7 or 8 years. I guess I could have one now but the thought of burning off 800 calories, not including the fries and shake, is disheartening. I did not know that they made potato chips? Are they some new kind of healthy kind?

They are probably a lot of things, but healthy is definitely not one of them.

It could be that there are two separate parts to Burger King, the restaurant where they sell burger and fries and the vending machines or the grocers where they sell potato chips. So it seems that Burger King wants to keep this separate and they might have a survey done to find out what the potential customers like. They might even make kids' snack pacs, but you realize that there is a health issue here, and people want children to eat healthy. Besides once you have a potato chip, you cannot have just one. Oh I prefer sour cream and onion or barbecue potato chips.

They may have sold the rights to the chips to another company. Maybe Burger King could not come up with one that tasted good, so they let another company do it. All I know is that they are good.

I've seen these potatoes chips in the store but I've never tried them - not yet anyway. Since I've now heard from someone who has tried them I guess I'll have to buy a bag and try them for myself. I'll bet my grandson has had them because he's a ketchup fanatic like no one else I've ever seen. So, you hate it when your fries get cold, too? That drives me crazy because they never stay hot as long a the burger does! Annie

Good for you, getting something healthy! I've been trying to do that more often but sometimes it's not so easy... You're SO right about reheated fries. Ugh! Annie

And don't you dare try to reheat cold french fries, yick. I was in Rite Aid yesterday and I saw a big bag of these chips. I was tempted to buy them, but I was going for something healthy at the time, for a change.
