I went to walmart online to find a digital camera. Not even one day passed when I got a bunch of emails from other companies offering digital cameras. Do you think walmart gave them my email?? I didnt sign up for anything nor did I register with walmart. I just went to their website. This email sharing crap is ridiculous. That is the one pitfall I hate about working online. TONS OF SPAM!! I would hate to think my favorite store is giving out my email without my permission!

I really doubt that walmart gave them your email. For one, you said that you did not register with walmart or sign up for anything, so how would walmart even know your email? Two, why would walmart give away a possible sale to their competition? Wouldn't that be bad for their business? You may have some sort of spyware on your computer that slipped past your anti-spyware software or something. If I were you, I'd run a complete scan with my spyware just to check and be on the safe side.

I hear email lists are BIG business too these days. I will double check my computer though for spyware. I have virus software but I dont know if it catches spyware. Thanks for advice.

I have to agree with betsyraeduke, if you didn't give them your email address there is no way they could have given out your email. Odds are that you have some sort of spyware on your computer. Make sure that your anti-spyware is always up to date.

If you didn't give walmart.com your email addy in anyway then they can't sell it. It sounds to me like you just have a tracking cookie on your computer that is sending someone your info.
