if you're a filipino,what makes you proud of our heritage?

Reading your discussion I would say that I am also proud of our close family ties and our hospitality. After reading the responses, I just found out that there are also a lot of things Filipino that I can be proud of. :) Though I may disagree with some. :(

i am proud of our languages. after more than 350 years under spanish rule, more 40 years of american rule, and 3 years under the japanese, we never lost our languages. although there are traces of spanish in our languages, we retain the core of our languages. unlike other countries particularly south american countries, they lost their languages to their colonizers.

i am a filipino...hmmm...what makes me proud of being a filipino, well, our hospitality, close family ties...(just like what you said)...but most of all, filipinos are 'bibo'...i mean, most of us still manage to smile and be very happy despite all the problems we face...
