I have seen a lot of people on here wondering how they can reach their payout each month on mylot so I thought I would write a small discussion on this and you all can chime in and offer some more pointers for the new people on here or for anyone else who is having trouble reaching their payout.
First of all, no one really knows how much you get paid on here but I can tell you how I reach payout each month on Mylot. I write discussion that are great topics and are usually something that I need help with so that I can find the answers. Sure, I get some responses that tell me to look it up on the internet but why would I want to do that when I know that someone here on mylot can help me with the solution to my problem.
I write about 33 post a day so that I can try to make at least $0.33 a day, this is what you need to reach the $10 payout on here. If you write 33 post a day on mylot and you get paid one cent for each post then you will be able to reach the ten dollar payout by the end of the month.
The trick is to not just write post that are way out there, but to write post that are meaningful. When I write my post, I try to write them at least ten lines long so that I know I will be able to explain it more throughly and be able to either help someone else or seek a better answer for something that I am trying to reach.
I have seen discussions on here that ask whay your favorite color is and I must say that you will probably not get paid for this so why write about it? If you are going to write something that has to do with a color at least make it meaningful. For instance; a topic about what color dress you should by your mother for Mothers day is so much better than, what is your favorite color.
Anybody else have any other suggestions on what you do to make more money on mylot to reach your payout?

33 post in one day Where do you get the time?
It takes me 3 to 4 months to reach the payout
and thats the lowest they will pay.
I spend a lot of my time answering PM's.
Which dont make me anything. I spend a lot of
time just reading the discussions then find that
it already has the answer posted in the response
so i figure what's the purpose of repeating it?
I just move on to another discussion.
You have some good advice about starting the discussion.
I have also noticed that some of the inane discussions get the most responses.
Thanks for the tips.

Actually, typing at myLot is a way to improve your typing speed. I find that I have learned a lot on here, and it pays in a lot of other ways than in my Pay Pal account.

You are defiantly right when it comes to people posting on discussions that are about as goofy as Spongebob Squarepants. I have a schedule that I stick to so that I don't get bored or burnt out.
I also found that the little number by your name will come in handy when you are trying to reach a certain goal. With each post that you reply too, your number goes up. This will help you to determine how many post that you have written in that day if you keep up with it.
As far as finding time goes, well, I try to find time between writing articles and taking care of my children. I will admit that it is not always easy but it can be done.
I had to put the part in about my children because a lot of you are probably thinking that I don't have children or responsibilities and this is why I am able to do it. WEll, I have five children and one of them is not in school yet.
Set aside some time for mylot each day and you will be able to reach the payout each month. If you are not a fast typer, practice so that you can type faster. There are a lot of free programs on the internet that will help to speed up your typing.
I hope that this helps you out.

Scheduling will make or break you on someting like this online earnings! No matter what it is that youare doing. You have to look at it like a "job". If you have a job to go to, youa re there 8 hours. working at home- do the same thing, schedule your hours and stick to them! No necessarily 8 straight hourse, but 2 now, 2 later - whatever works for you and stick to that schedule the bast you can. Kids can tweak the hours, but stay commited as best you can and it will pay off. I found the first month on my GPT stuff I was delirious with confusion! But then realized I need to set a schedule and take "lunch hour" and breaks and all that too, and finally got on a roll and now I do all I have to do and have extra time, so I am looking for another option of earnings! Schedule and commit - makes it work so much better and easier!

I registered here five days ago, and I have earned $0.19 now, so I have to working 527 days to get the check...
If I work harder - post more topics per day and respond more posts, I should get the first check in 2008, even so, it is a long way for me :)

When you said 2008, this made it seem like an entire year but you know what? 2008 is right around the corner. More effort is all that it takes to make more money here on mylot. Welcome to mylot and I hope that you have fun here.

Hi Rosa! I have been with MyLot a year now, and am just coming up to my second $10 payout! I have no referrals. I wish I could write more discussions, but I just can't get my head round any more than I'm doing. How can you write 33 in one day? I know you are a writer, so it will come naturally to you I suppose, and I admire you for it, and for your dicipline!
I just enjoy my time on here chatting and responding - the money is a bonus!

The money is defiantly a bonus. I also enjoy my time on here, i am a mother who doesn't get out much so the Internet is kind of like my open door to the rest of the world. I try to keep on my toes as much as possible when it comes to writing and often times, I will find something very interesting and keep at it so that I can write many post about it with a different spin each time. I am on and off of here throughout the day and this is how I can write 33 post in one day. I try not to think to much on what I am writing and it helps when you actually put down what you are feeling instead of reading into it too much. I try to write without thinking and then I go back to read what my reply says so that I can make sure that it does not sound stupid. If you think to much on it without typing your thoughts, you could be sitting there for a few minutes before you reply to the discussion. This is also great practice for when I have writers block and can't think of a single thing to write about, it helps me to free my mind for a little while.

Now this is what I call a great informational post! And the replies certainly help with additional tips and tricks. I personally just found out about "Linky" and this tool has other applications (TE's, for example) as well. This unobtrusive piece of software works with the Firefox browser and is a great add-on feature.

I love using linky and especially when it comes to sites like mylot so that I can open up more than one discussion at a time which makes it easier to reach your goal each day. I agree with you, this topic has a lot of great replies in it that we can each use to help us make more on here.

I think the main question everyone would ask is "how long do you spend doing 33 posts a day for 33 cents a day?" I mean, I'm as frugal as they come,I pick up the pennies from the parking lot, but to spend 3 or 4 hours so that I can earn 33 cents - I just don't see the point. There are other things you can do to get 33 cents. GPT - do one offer and you get 30 cents in about 60 seconds.
On the other hand, I love to chat so I do and I respond, start discussions about things, ask questions (I'd rather get advise from someone who's "been there, done that" over just googling it) and just chat with friends, maybe help someone else, give tips that someone else might be able to use and get helps for other things. Lots of reasons to post and I enjoy them all. Some days I do 33 cents a day, other days it is less, some have been more, but I haven't charted the time I spent earning it. Some days it is more, some days it is less.
So maybe the question I am asking is "how much time do you spend on MyLot if you are here for the money?"

I don't really spend that much time on here. I find discussions that are already started and simply reply to them. This makes it easier for those who can't think of anything to start a topic on and you still make almost the same amount of money. The reason I use mylot as one of my sources of income is because I love to chat with people and i am also a writer so I find a lot of great topics to write about here on mylot.
It may seem that I spend a lot of time here but I really don't. There are a lot of people who spend hours on here writing about nonsense and don't make much money and then there are those who write great topics and reply to wonderful discussions and they meet the payout each month.
I am on mylot about once a week but I choose one day a week to where I can spend time writing on here and replying to discussions. If I spent hours upon hours on here, I would probably get burnt out.
Writing 33 discussions is really not that hard to do at all and if you are fast at typing, this really can be done within a few minutes. I also use Linky on Firefox to speed up the time within post because I open discussions up into new tabs to make sure that I write as many as I need to write within that amount of time.
I hope this helps and answers your questions.

I've just starte doing this, but I don't think it is aget rich plan. I've not thought alot about making money with it. Your right though some discussions are just plain stupid! I'm doing this because I live alone and would like to have intelligent interation with others.

YES I agree, not only the number of posts but the quality of content will get good response and initiate discussions.
But I think if one refers many of your friends to myLot then also one can earn good money.
But the question is that is myLot is for earning money only?
In my opinion myLot gives something more than money.

Like I said before, mylot should not be used as a money making opportunity only because you really won't make that much on here unless you have a lot of referrals under you. I use mylot as chunk change at the beginning of the month and also to help find different things to write articles on. I also use it for when I need an answer to something because people here are more eager to help you.
This discussion was started to help people to make more money on here so that they can reach payout and somehow it has taken a different turn all together.

Yeah you are right, we must have some goal to reach our pay-out. 33 post for day is not bad to reach the pay out monthly.

Rosa, you have done a good job, that is basically my philosophy as well. I am pretty certain that at least at times we make more than one cent per post, so if you can make 33 posts daily, then yes, you will reach pay out each month. I work two jobs during the school year, so I do not always get the 33 posts made. I do not make payout every month anymore. I know that I get paid for what I do, and if I do not make payout this month, it will roll over next month, so that is okay with me. This is bonus money. I will look and see what others think as they respond to you.

Well at least you get the concept of it all. I work hard at reaching the payout but I don't put a lot of time into it like a lot of people imagine that I do. I will be spending less time on here this year due to me going back to school and having five children. I spend more time on here at night after all the little and big ones have gone to bed. I am on and off of here throughout the day so that I don't get bored of this again.

Hi Rosa,
These are great suggestions and I also try to follow by these. I admit I don't reach payout every month but I don't try to because I have too many other things to do but for those who are trying to reach payout every month these are very good suggestions.
I also don't start a discussion unless I want help for something or advice about something and I respond to those discussions that I find are interesting. When I do write a response I make it as long as I can and write something meaningful while doing so. I am a writer like you so it is not hard for me to write long responses. Great discussion by the way. :)

hello there. I am glad to see you here again on Mylot. I know that you are soooo busy. You actually have a lot of things going for you nowadays and you should be proud of this with all your money making techniques that you have been using.
This discussions was actually started for those who are using mylot as a simple source to get a little bit of extra cash each month. Some months, I am too busy to stop by here and type and other months, I simply meet the payout. I know that this can be done on a monthly basis and there are a lot of people who use mylot as a way to make money. I always tell my referrals that this is basically just for fun and too add a little bit of money into their account and that they should not rely on this for a main source of income.
I usually only start the discussions if I need help with something also, but I often come on here and reply to as many discussions as I can to build up my earnings. I have also got referrals that are very promising and I use them too make money but I don't rely on them to reach my payout each month.
Even before I had any referrals, I was able to reach payout each month just by replying and starting discussions.

Ok, here's a few of my things that I do:
I answer 30-50 discussions from my friends each day. It takes me about 2-3 hours to do in between fixing breckfast, doing dishes, ect. I try not to post mile long responses but enough to get my point across and cover all the bases in the discussion.
I also start 5-7 discussions each day. I don't do the one line discussions (What's your favorite color) those irritate me to no end. I usually have 3 paragraphs to each disscussion...the first is a summary of what the disscussion is about, the second is my opinion, experiences, views, thoughts or feelings about the topic. The third paragraph is questions for the responder to think about.
I also try to come up with a catchy title like a discussion on distraction, instead of just "I'm distracted"...I'll title it "Splittin' My Brain" (I actually did that one LOL) More ppl will go to it just to see what it is. I try to come up with topics that interest me that I think will interest others.
Another thing I do is I have 92 pages of friends. There is a reason behind it other than I'm just a friendly person LOL I do it b/c 1) I know that at least half of them will like my discussions and 2) I never run short of discussions to respond to.
I've been doing really good about reaching payout and actually I make it a goal to beat the previous months amount. I'm about a third of the way there right now so I'm not doing too bad.
