Hello, darthbakwaas!the opening dilemma still persists with the Indian team.however the team management agrees that opening the innings with Dravid was a wrong decision.but there was no other options.Sacin was not willing to open the innings.so there is another option left with Ganguly.let him go back to his own position since he has regained his lost form.let the same team play in the 2nd test.but the Team Management should look in to the pitch condition and adjust the batting order just before the play.with virtually every batsman struggling, the team management should allow the same Indian xi with the hope that most of the senior players will eventually get it right.and they should allow Dravid to open the innings instead of gambling big time on Sehwag, who is not played a competitive match for the last two months or so.thank you.happy NEW YEAR 2008.good luck to Team India.

Now, it was difficult to return for Sehwag because he got many chances in many of the matches but he become fail. His luck was so hard but I think he has forgot his playing skills because when he plays there is no movement of his legs I see many times. If he want to come again he will have to work hard.

I think it will be not fare with Yuvraj as it seems he will be the only guy on whom we can make substitution.Other batsmen also have failed so we can not make subs on the basis of single match.Besides Yuvi is in his best form and sehwag is far away from it.If yuvi is failing despite of this one can not be so sure about Sehwag. So I guess Sehwag will have to earn his place by playing domestic games. And the worst thing on his part is he hasnt got a half century in recently concluded Ranji season. So situation favors Yuvraj.

Yes , i know sehwag hasnt been in the best of his form currently but he has to be given a chance .India cannot retain the same (faulty) squad for next match. Maybe they can drop bhajji

Finding a place for Viru sehwag seems difficult, unless the captain is prepared to take a radical move.
Sehwag also provides an off-spin option.
Yuvraj, more comfortable against pace bowler and with abundantly more strokes, could be pushed into the opening postion, if kumble wants to retain Dravid, Who should then bat at number six where the pressure on him with be considerably less.

I think that getting sehwag in would be a gamble which can be worth taking..I have my doubts whether he can perform but still we can drop yuvi and let Dravid bat at no.3..Getting sehwag in place of dravid will make indian batting more fragile

I agree with you Sehwag should be in the final elven and should open the innings. Sehwag did a very good job in the tour match. I think Rahul Dravid is currently not comfortable in opening the innings. This is one reason Sehwag should open the innings. Sehwag has also gained some of his loss form so definately he can get some good runs in the third match.

I think sehwag is bored of cricket, his hand eye co-ordination is becoming slower....he used to score runs because of it and now he isn't quick enough. Why cant we just go back to the golden days of Tendulkar and Ganguly?
