When I was in school the time capsule was not so big. I think that if my class did bury anything it may have been a few teachers. Maybe a few of the outdated text books as well. My daughter however, is about to graduate and they have made a time capsule to be opened in ten years. I do believe the football star put his shirt in there as well as the biggest geeks eye glasses. The school year book also made it in so that there would be pictures to compare the before and after life. The kids had a lot of fun putting the box together. They then burried it on school ground and put up markers so that they know which class had this spot. I understand this is the second class to do the capsule. I hope I am around when my daughter gets to open the box to see what survives being burried for ten years.

Ten years is not that long if you think. I've already passed 7 years from high school and I remember everything. It would be more funny to meet after say 20 years to open the box

I would put in dated items, such as newspapers. I recently found some old newspapers and it was very interesting to see what was happening, the prices of things in the classified section. I think also things that are a sign of the times. Maybe one of those yellow ribbon magnets that people have on their cars that say things like 'support our troops.' A CD of popular music, a cell phone, anything that is a significant part of life today. A postage stamp, photos, especially ones that show the places near where the time capsule will be buried. A current calendar with important dates marked on it.

Probably pictures of the cars we drive now, newspapers from this year, pictures of our family, the house we live in, mag clips to show the fashion style right now. Have to think of what else I would put in there....good question. I kind of wish someone in our family would have done that.
Something to think about doing.
