Runescape Classic Anyone?

Did anyboyd here used to play runescape classic? I did, it was way better before Jagex screwed us over with this new crap.
I remember my first armor, it was leather armour. I obtained it at level 24. Such a better game back then, you actually had to work. Any body else have Runescape Classic Memories?

I played runescape before it became runescape classic, one of the sweatest memories was when i finally could use rune platemail. Also remember how some friends joked about how retarded the fights looked like, two people holding wierd stick repeatably hitting eachothers heads.
What i miss from runescape classic, is that you didn't have 100 million different random events (if i remember correctly). Even if its a good thought behind them, they are often damn annoying and do not serve their purpose effectivly. One thing that sucked monkeyballs back then was the Certs, that was stupid s**t. I became very glad when they changed that to notes, making trades with large quantities much easier. There was also not so much unneccesary stuff like there is today, and rune was the best you could have.
The grafics were not the best there could be, but it had a nostalgia faktor to it, making it worth staring at. I still miss the 3 hit/run rule, that one thing made Pk'ing worth it. I also miss much of the simplicity in the game, where you didn't have to choose from a trillion different stuff to cook/make/kill.
Some of the new stuff is nice updates, but it just feels like Jagex does them to make people become members. Much was better in classic but not everything.

I joined shortly after the conversion from classic so I never saw it. I must say I still have to work to get whatever I need. I'm not using bots or buying gp so I have to do it all myself. Not to mention I prefer to get my gear that I can't make from drops. As for the whole random event thing, expect them to decline a bit now that jagex has done the new updates to kill the RWT. Thats what they were put in to combat in the first place.
