If given the chance to sing or act and you had the talent, which would you do?

The entertainment industry is one that changes lives. You hit it big, and become the subject of gossip, scrutiny, sometimes ridicule, and you can even become rich. Sometimes things you say can even threaten your career. If you were to choose to be an entertainer and wanted to show the world your talent; how would you like to do it? Actors and actresses become household names from their stage and screen appearances and singers are responsible for the soundtrack for moments of some of our lives. We hear their music on compact disks, live in concert, on the radio, and digitally. Singers sometime eventually become actors/actresses through videos and sometimes choosing to act onstage and/or onscreen. If you had the talent, and wanted the opportunity to show your talent to the world, what would be your primary way of doing it singing or acting?

I would be an actor mostly because movies, TV and stage performances move me spiritually, mentally, and emotionally more than music ever has. I like music and love to listen to it when I do my house work or when I'm driving, but when I want to be engaged, inspired, or taken away from my day-to-day routine, I turn to movies. I think movies are more of the sound track to my life than music. If you name certain movies, I can name the day, time, place and people I was with when I saw it. It's not the same for music with me. And, maybe I'm a snob, but I think actors are more interesting than musicians and singers. :o) Stay well!

Hi JoyceRenee,
Thank you for your response. I personally would be a singer, beacuse music is so incredibly pleasing to me. I do see movies occasionally. Can you name the day, place, and people you were with when the first Star Wars movie can out in the '70's. Take Care and Happy New Year.

I was in Cincinnati visiting my sister and her husband. They had been married about a year. It was June of 1977 but I don't remember the date (I guess I'm not that good:o) I remember it was so hot that month I was just miserable, and they didn't have airconditioning. As for the movie, I was mezmerized. I wanted to go back and see it again and a gain (maybe that had a little to do with the airconditioned theater). It is a good memory for me. Have a HAPPY and SAFE New Year!

Hello Rosema,
Thank you for your response. I agree that a beautiful voice is required to be a professional singer. Acting can be learned, I took Drama in high school. I would say that I am better at acting then singing, but I would love a voice like Tina Turner. Take Care.
