Bang! Happy New Year to All!

Here in the Philippines, we celebrate new year with lots of firecrackers and pyrotechnics, which sometimes result to lost of properties from fires and lost of limbs from firecrackers or even loss of lives from indescriminate firing of guns. We got the idea from the Chinese who explodes firecrackers to shoo out misfortunes, unfortunately for us, the firecrackers developed from a small one we call "revintador" to large and strong ones we call "super lolo" or "pla-pla". The accidents from these firecrackers were tremendous, during the new years eve, it even goes as high as 22 dead and more than 600 injured. It good the government is now acting on it, and the statistics are slowly going down. In your country how do you celebrate New Year?
