My friend told me that DSL works best on internet cafes where you have more than one computer. Is that true? Which connection do you have or prefer? Which is the fastest and best to use? thanks

I have dsl, but I don't know about internet cafes either. I would assume that they would need a fast connection, perhaps a T1 or something in order to handle a large server. Cable is faster for downloading, but for normal surfing, I don't really see a difference between dsl and cable.

I'm not familiar with internet cafes', but I have DSL, and my daughter has dial-up, and there is quite a difference, I totally recommend DSL, especially for as much work as I do on the computer! I record music programs and songs, shop for cars to buy and sell, take tax preparation courses online, do all my banking, and investment information, and I have a business where I sell electricity as an agent! Plus I am on five discussion forums, including myLot!

DSL is good but if you have access to Cable or FiOS, get them. I have a 30 MB Cable line....insane speeds! It's bascially like a T1 and i only pay about $65 a month. It only went down once in about 1.5 yrs for like 2-3 hours for service upgrades probably.

I agree with your friend, i have a DSL connection in my house we can use all of us even in our desktop, not only for laptop, also it depend to the speed you apply to your DSL.

dsl is usually fast anywhere. a lot of people claim cable is faster, but this all depends where you are on the line...so naturally some people will have better results with one than the other. The more computers you have it does not really matter if the internet is split. you can use a power amp to keep it strong.
