Travel Earring Case

I designed and just finished a travel earring case. It was so difficult to do because of the details that require patience and extra time. The inside has a plastic canvas, 7 mesh, insert and is felt lined on the front and back. One of our kids lives out of state and when I go visit, I'm there for several days. This is a great way to take several pairs of earrings along with me and not lose them. Do you think this is a project I should continue to make and sell at craft fairs? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Wow, you created something really nice and useful. I think you should pursue with creating new useful stuff that will benefit a lot of people, and earn money on the side. For women who travel, this a pretty case where all ear blings go together. No worries of missing pieces or locks because it seem secure the way you described it on the inside. Please do share if you make another creation, I'm sure most of us here would want to be the first to be updated. Goodluck and congratulations! =)

Thanks for the very nice compliment. I did make 3 cases and all in very bright colors. My theory was brighter colors would be easier to find inside a dark suitcase. My plan is to sell them this summer at craft fairs. Thanks for responding.

Hello dear carol bee friend. I am so glad to be able to enjoy another craft made by you. It is really so practical and useful in putting the earrings. You are so capable a person to make so many different kinds of crafts and arts. Thanks for sharing, my dear friend. I wish you to make as much as you could from your excellent skill in the new year.

That is nice . I just took a closer look and it looks like a nice case for women who travel a lot. I would like one in only one color. LOL. I don't even wear earrings anymore. Any it sure does beat the small plastic bags that most women use. At least they wont get tangled up with other earrings. I would definitely make some and sell them. Not at just craft fairs... You could even get some craft stores to sell them for you. Or sell them at flea markets, or on e-bay. I bet they would be easy to sell.
Great idea, you are very talented.
Happy New Year

Thanks so much for your advice and nice compliment. The reason I made a multi-colored case to start with is, thought it would be easy to find inside a suitcase. It's so bright....lol I may have to make a few more and attempt to sell them online or take with me to fairs. Thank you for responding.
Have a healthy and happy new year,

When I travel I take with me the pair of earrings and necklace I am wearing. I don't like to take extra in case I lose them or they are stolen from my hotel room. I hear this kind of thing happens a lot. How ever I do like what you have made. I also one like it in one plain color as someone already mentioned. I would buy it just in case I did decide to take more jewelry with me on a trip. I have friends who take their jewelry with them and this is something I would buy for them if I came across it. I would consider making them in some darker colors as well as your bright colors. Black Brown Dark Purple, those would be my choice but I know some people just love their bright colors so anything goes with this. Honestly I would buy it!

Thanks so much coffee for your response. The photo is the first one I made and was really to see if I could do it! My eyes aren't that great, cause I am old, but had the idea if something was exceptionally bright it would be easier to see inside a darker suitcase. Am getting some good feedback on this craft and am lovin' all the compliments. Thanks so much for your suggestions.

When I travel, I usually only take a couple of pairs of earrings with me. But I believe there is a market for your case... it's a wonderful idea and small enough to slip into a toiletries bag during travel.
I think there is a market for this item (I don't recall seeing this type of carrier before) and it would probably do well at craft shows and online at Etsy.com and Ebay.
Perhaps Etsy.com would be a good idea to offer them as a custom item (if it isn't hard to do custom colors). Since it isn't an easy piece to put together, you'd at least get your asking price on Etsy and you'd be paid in advance.
Great idea... thanks for sharing!
Have a happy and helathy New Year!

I do believe it needs to get in the "right hands" in order to sell. They are so difficult to make because of the small areas where some of the stitching goes. Funny you should mention Etsy because I just cancelled the account after being a member for over a year and not selling a thing. Part of the problem was my fault since I didn't push the site. Made the first one with loud colors thinking it would be easier to see in a suitcase. Think it holds 10 prs. of earrings if they aren't real large but can overlap also. Thanks so much for responding and thanks for the great compliment.
