The ability to listen to you.And if they really listen to you, they can really help you with your problems or really know what you are going through.

I think the most important thing in a friend is reliability. Whether it be punctuality if you only meet through a club or being able to make time for a chat. There is nothing worse than being let down by a friend as it makes you question the importance of your friendship. Of course there are many other things such as honesty, openness, good listener that are important as well.

Common interests is very important and often underestimated aspect of friendship! A good friend can be sincere, honest, cheerful etc. but what if there is nothing to do together?
