Every year I get a large telephone book called the Yellow Pages which I might use once. These books are a horrible waste of paper and are often not recycled. Do you use these books? I think there should be an opt-out list. If ever I do need an address or phone number for a company i can just go online. What do you think?

Since internet had become more and more popular people that using yellow pages book become less and less of course. I find that it is far more convenient and faster to find out phone number and email address of any company by online searching so why should I should to use that clumsy book again.

I prefer using the yellow pages. I don't keep my pc on all the time and can find the number in the book before it all logs on. ALl the choices are there and I don't have to keep typing different spellings, I can just look at all that is there at once. I also like to see what I'm doing too...sometimes the yellow pages on line don't do what they say they do, but the book - its all right in front of ou. I do tho, use MapQuest.

I rarely use the Yellow Pages. I think it is a waste of paper for people like me and you that use the Internet. If there was an opt out I would be happy to do this. I always look up address and phone numbers on the Internet. I think that telephone companies need to have a re-think about their distribution of the Yellow Pages. Surely they would save money, paper and ink if say 40% of people opted out of receiving a Yellow Pages.

I remember that last time I used it was 8 years ago, when my cousin and I were so bored and searched some funny names on the yellow pages. I think we also stopped geting it since then.

I rememeber using this book once, until i realized there were websites that could find you what you needed quite quickly. I enjoyed it much much more than scanning pages and pages of names until i finally found one.
And i also agree with your statement about the waste of paper. Although i do beleive it is recycled, the number of people using it has significantly gone down. They should invest in a way to create a phonebook ordering system for those that actually want it rather than everyone getting it.
