When I was a high school student, I kept a diary almost everyday. I haven't keep this habit anymore and I even think that it is no need to keep a diary. As it is something personal and you don't want others to discover your secrets.

When I was in high school I did too. My parents never went through my diary (or they probably did and I never got to know..lol). But after I was married, I found that my husband would go through my diary (which I didn't like) ...so I stopped it. But I still need to vent sometimes by writing...so I write it on a piece of paper and then throw it away!

Hi, I too used to keep a diary all the time. I found it really interesting to go back into it years later and see what I was doing in the past. I have kind of fallen away from doing that now as life's demands have increased. Maybe I will get into it again however... cheers, :)

Making a blog is a good idea, at least it is less personal than diary. You like others to visit your blog.

keeping a diary is neat. it becomes an outlet and a training ground to keep your thoughts organized. you can always go back to your writing as you move and grow older and reminisce the past. blogging, like what we are doing, is some sort of diary. re-live the past.

I wrote diary from time to time when I was in high school but those entries were really sad and I wouldn't want to re-read anymore. Therefore, I don't write diary anymore because I don't want to remember things that are not fun or sad to me. I would rather remember the good stuff and move on in life.

You are positive. It's always better for us to look forward to the future rather than thinking about the past.

Hi,youless! I kept this habit in my middle school but finally I decided to give it up,though I bought a delighted notebook as the diary book. Someone believes that writing can release pressure but I don't think so.When I wrote my diary, wrote my pressure on my notebook,I found it meant nothing but wasting time. The problmes still existed! So I decided to put my diary book away.Even now, I don't want to write a diary.

Hi youless! I did keep a diary when I was young and until I got married. But since then, I just stopped writing my day to day activities and feelings. I guess, I was too tired to write anything down on my diary and I never wanted anyone to read it. I already have burn all my diaries..I guess, I want my life to be kept private and I fear that when I die someone will just read it. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

I can understand it. I had only one diary left and perhaps one day I should burn it, too.

hello! I've always kept a journal since I was a child (from elementary, high school, all through out college and even up until now that I'm working). I write a lot, although not on a routine basis - there are days when I write multiple entries, and then a week would pass without me writing anything. I am a "habitual thinker" (for a lack of better term :D), meaning, my mind is always running at multiple levels at the same time (it is impossible for me to just focus on a single task, for example, I can be watching a movie, while reading and drawing, while talking to someone, and still some random unrelated thought would pop-up). So a journal is a necessity (relieves massive headaches too ;p), as it is a repository of what I term "excess thoughts". I find it easier to analyze and organize my thoughts and observations when I had it written down. God knows how many notebooks and planners I filled up (I keep them safe in my "locker".) :D I also blog actively - http://leiaskywalker.wordpress.com - but still, I keep an old-fashioned journal for more private matters.

I have had sereral diary notes from my senior shool. But,I didn't note every day ,except I want to write down something significative cases.Usually, when I feel very happy or sorrow,I will want to write it in my diary notebook. In this way,I 'LL feel comfortable much more. Now,I take my diary notebook along with me also, and I could write at any moment when I want to log. It's my the best friend of mine.

I had a diary as a teenager, actually it`s good way to show your emotion, to analize your behaviour, to clean yourself, to release some stress. For many people their diaries have sentimental value. Now we use more forums online and blogs.

Hi youless! When I used to be in my school years I used to keep a diary. I left that habit after leaving college One of my newyear resolutions is to keep a diary as it would help me to get more organized. I don't do anything I am ashamed of so i guess I do not mind if anyone else discover the contents of my diary.

Hello dear youless. It is the same with me so far as keeping diary is concerned. But I have never kept diaries since I got married a couple of years later. It seems that there is not enough time to keep diary after marriage and there is no need to go on with it for me. I don't think that I will ever start again to keep diary. Thanks.

hi there.. i have never been able to inculcate the habit of keeping a diary.. i have really tried a lot of times, but i just can't sustain the habit... there is also this fear of others getting hold of it and reading my extremely personal thoughts... that too may be a reason why i don't maintain one. but this year, as always, i have decided to make another attempt

I used to keep a diary years ago back in school and college. Lately I have been keeping an online diary that is password protected. This way I can access my notes, thoughts and add entries anytime I want to and from anywhere. Keeping a diary help me remember things and feelings and helps me organize my thoughts. I think everybody should keep a personal diary.

It is safer to keep an online diary than the original diary book.
