Access to an indoor pool is everything when it comes to swimming during the winter. However, it's worthwhile to do if you have the opportunity and the time to do it.

True! Although we do not have winter here in our country. In theory, the cold environment during winter will make breathing harder, and when you submerge yourself in a really cold pool, your breathing would be very slow and rhythmic.
And as you breathe harder, you exert much more effort than swimming during summer or spring. You would expend much more energy and burn calories fast. Not to mention it is a good cardio exercise.

I like swimming, but I have never swimmed in winter, because I am afraid of cold...though I know it's good for health by swimming in winter.
