Mylot Schedule

I have a question for some Mylot members . I know that there plenty of people in this worldwide community created by Mylot; and I was wondering if some of you have a "Mylot schedule" - Days, times, and/or hours for Mylot. If so, does it help for better reponses and discussions or does it really matter. With the way I work and what I do, I am starting to realize that I am going to have to schedule my Mylot use. Has anyone considered this or is it unnecessary for some, maybe it is just natural for you to schedule most of the things that you do and this is one. Let's discuss this...on your time of course.

I haven't a schedule because I use mylot mostly for fun; when I start using shedules it becomes a task and I want it to be relaxing,a hobby. I guess most people are online after work hours or before work hours, and most people here are from the US. Off course there are different time zones there too... You need to find the hours that are overlapping and are during the evening, I guess that's your best shot. Also during the weekends perhaps. Friday and saterday night could be pretty good as well, there are people enough that don't go out or go online after partying. Other than that I haven't any idea. Hope this helps!

Hi Cyberfluf, Happy New Year. I am someone that considers Mylot fun, and fun is something I have to schedule unfortunately. I try to have healthy ways of doing things and this seems to work for me, I can spend so much time on Mylot without realizing it. Take Care and Have Fun.

I can understand that when you have a very busy shedule (and certainly when you have kids) it's not a possibility to just jump behind your PC whenever you feel like it. I can't do this all the time, but I have moments that are free and when I can pretty much do as I please without any obligation to anyone or myself. Shedules can be a great help but personally I would loose my enjoyment in mylot with a strict shedule. Anyone is free to use them and it's good to hear that you both use them and have good experiences with it. Keep up the good work and thanks for your descriptive and kind responses.

I treat myLot for what it is... a social network, a place where people interact, share their opinions and learn from others, and in the process make friends from around the world. The earnings bit is secondary for me as I do not earn much from it anyway. Therefore, I do not adhere to any kind of timetable for participation. I come here whenever I have free time on my hands. Keeping to a fixed timetable is to me very regimental and mechanical, something I have to discipline myself to do and that I believe will take away the spontaneity, fun and enjoyment of sharing. Furthermore, that will just add unnecessary constraint and stress to my daily living. Having said that, I do feel that myLot is addictive, and makes me want to come in every time I have free time on my hands. I believe many other members feel the same way too.

Yes, keep to a schedule if that works well for you. The important thing is enjoy participating here, otherwise it can become a chore and a burden.

Thank you for your response lexus54. I like your spontaneous nature. I do agree that Mylot can be addictive; but I like to do everything in moderation including this. It still remains a fun way to connect, and I need a schedule. Take Care.

Hi Marciascott, Happy New Year. I agree that you do not need a schedule to go on Mylot. It is just a personal preference. I am one that needs time management to get things done sometimes. Take Care.

I don't make a schedule but my brief is being active at least. If I have enough time to mylotting,I will read my friends' discussions first and post responses to.Secondly give reply to my own discussions and upload some pictures. But if time is limit,I will at least read my friends' discussions firstly. I am not a person who likes schedule coz I come to here just for fun and earning money.I should accept that a schedule is useful but that's not important for me.

I do not have a specific timing on mylot. I enjoy the chats here and am not here for the money (of course, any payments would be a bonus still :-) ). I guess that helps to keep a casual attitude to responding to chats and discussions here. I stay logged on to mylot as long as I am at my computer, and response when I find any discussion that interests me. :-)

Hi fineexistence, Thank you for your response. I like your casual attitude. I have fun; and I like to do this on a schedule because it allows me to use the most time I have free. Take Care.

Ya, I have a schedule of spending 2 to 3 hours in Mylot but I cant do it continuously. I do it in-between my other work. I also have a target of atleast 10 discussions per day. Its peanuts I know, but that’s the most I cant achieve. I usually search for good discussions in my interest and other places and that takes time. Then I feel I must write something worthy and framing the sentences take some more time. So all in all, I can manage max to max 10 to 15 discussions per day but I am happy with it.

Thank you for your response sudiptacallingu. I agree that having discussions and thoughtful responses take time. I would like to know that people are thinking before they discuss, respond, and comment so that they can adequately address the subject matter. I know the best time to do this and it is scheduled. Take Care.

I think the closest thing to a schedule i have here is that I'm ALWAYS on first thing in the morning when I come down at 4am and I usually stay until 8am (off and on) then the rest of the day I'm in and out and sometimes I dont come in at all again til the next morning..
@adforme (2114)

Thank you for your response Ravenladyj. I find that some times of the day are better to be here that others; I am glad you can relate. I actually have "Mylot hours" he he he. I try not to go over them. I have a bit of a disciplined approach. Take Care.

I don't really have a set schedule per se. I probably should because I tend to get distracted easily during my computer time. If I allocated set time to posting, commenting, etc. I would probably be more effective.

Hi kellys3ps, Thank you for your response and Happy New Year. Sometimes we need to develop a strategy to the way we do things to do them better. I hope you can develop your best way to Mylot(used as a verb) that makes it more enjoyable for you. Take Care.

I don't have a schedule at all. I come in as and when I'm bored (at times, like now, during office hour too). I'm from Singapore so my time zone should be different from most people. As for better responses...errr...can't really tell coz I only started 3 discussions after so long...I prefer to join discussions and see what interests me.

Thank you for you response cheezer. I start discussions, respond to discussions, and comment, it can take a lot of time to do it all. I enjoy it; and I have a schedule so that I can do it in a timely manner. Take Care.

Almost all members are very nice and supportive. If you have problems, they will really give some good advices. By the way, welcome to mylot. Hope you would enjoy here! Happy New Year! :-)

Well, I just go on myLot when I have time, or when I feel like discussing and reading other people's ideas. Not really a schedule for me, just sometimes when I want to write and discuss with other people.

I normally do mylot in the morning after the kids go to school for about an hour. I figure I can get my computer time in before I have to do other things in the house such as dishes and laundy and other stuff. When I am off from work I normally spend more time on here. Also I spend about an hour when I get home from work but that depends on how tired I am.

I don't have a schedule exactly, but I do sometimes have to think about when I'm going to have time to get on. I have both a job and a young son, so I'm always having to think "When is Dusty going to need the most attention?" or "What's my work schedule like today?" or "What is my husband doing right now?" I don't use the computer much when my husband is awake because he's either on it himself or we're spending time together, so it almost always has to be when he's either at work or sleeping. So I'm trying to work around his schedule, my schedule, and our son's schedule. It's never exactly a formal thing, but I do wind up thinking "When am I going to have time to be on Mylot today?"

For me, theres no definite time to visit and replying some question here in mylot. Anytime you want to log in is definitely in your own schedule. You are the manager of your own time and no one can block you anytime you want to log in. For me, mostly, I am here in mylot in the evening and I spent mostly 2 to 3 hours before I sleep. But if I have time in the day, I visit my account here and look for some question to answer and I ended to answer mostly 5 to 10 questing everytime I visit mylot.

Hi Aries_0325, I guess the freedom of being able to visit Mylot whenever you want adds to its appeal. It works for me. Thank you for replying Aries_0325. Take Care.

I just try to Mylot a bit everyday. There are days I am here alot. Others where I am so busy I forget. No real schedule. I like it better to be a bit spontaneous. The person who told me about mylot said it was addictive. And they were right. Can't really say there is a time thats better for discussions and responses. I just have fun.
