Is where you live a factor in your happiness?

Does where you live make you want to have the opportunity to try living somewhere else. I am currently living in the midwest and I am from the East Coast, and I can't begin to tell you just how many differences I have noticed here compared to where I am from. Having the ability to travel is one of the things I cherish most in my life. It allows me to learn ways to make my life better. It is amazing how different parts of the country and even the world influence attitudes and lifestyles. I am going to leave the midwest more than likely and go somewhere that I feel is more progressive and healthy for me. Do you feel stuck? Are you wanting to discover life in another place. There are so many things that can influence one's happiness. Is where you live influencing your happiness.

Yes I believe this can have a factor. I also love to travel. I lived overseas for a few years and had the time of my life. I love that I am free to go where I want so I don't have to feel stuck. I'm also from the east coast. I've been living in Hawaii for the past two years. I'm back home for a visit because I haven't been home in five years. I've always wanted to live in the southwest for some reason I just have an affinity for the place. Maybe I'll go there next. At the same time I believe one place is just as good as another and once you get into a routine it's all the sane really. For me weather is a big factor of where I'd be happiest. I hate cold weather and snow especially I never want to live in a place permanently that has those two conditions.

Hi dreamy1, Thank you for your response and Happy New Year. I am glad that you are happy where you are; and I most definitely think weather plays a role in where we decide we are happiest. I live in place that gets very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. I am from a place where it just snowed only once in my lifetime and to be somewhere where it snows on a regular basis in the winter is very uncomfortable. I will go back to the east coast next summer. Take Care.

I don't think that there is any thing wrong with wanting to live in differetn palce and exploring the world but, I believe you have to be happy with yourself or you will never be happy where ever you or who ever you with.

Hi deebomb, I believe you are right about being happy with yourself, but sometimes I think some places influence happiness more than others depending on the social climate, weather, and your feelings. This is something that I have noticed in my life. Thank you for you response and Happy New Year. Take Care.
