I hate when that happens!

Yesterday I went down to do a load of laundry and opened up a new container of powdered laundry detergent. I stuck my hand inside trying to find the measuring scoop but there was none inside. This is not the first time it's happened. I had another one from a box I used a couple of months ago. This is not the first time I have opened something and found that part of it was missing! I bought a bundt cake with a filling and when I went to make the cake the filling package was missing. I realize that we are only human and make mistakes, and I also realize that in this era we are probably spoiled a bit. My expectation though is to have everything in tact when I purchase it. Has this happened to you? Do you get a wee bit upset when it does?

Call the toll free number listed on the box. they will send
you a coupon for a new box actually. I have done this each
time I get shorted something from a product.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have called and they have been very good about sending coupons or replacement. The best was Mattel....I bought a Barbie boat and half the stuff was missing...they send two of their new toys and the replacement stuff...that was a while back though.

Last time my husband picked up liquid laundry detergent the funnel was missing. I don't bother to measure since it's just as easy to pour an amount that looks about right. I wondered why the liquid was leaving the bottle so slow. About half way through the bottle of detergent I noticed a clanging noise each time the container was picked up and tilted to pour. It was the funnel. Guess it wasn't put together properly at the factory but shipped out anyway or became lose during shipment. It didn't bother me since I was able to use the product without any loss of detergent.

When it comes to laundry soap, we always have one Cup that we use with each thing of laundry detergent we use, and if it starts to get too dirty, we just rinse it out and use it again. Who wants to worry each time, or stick your hand in Laundry detergent just to get your scooper? Then when you find the New one, etc. you can either switch then, or throw it out, or save it for a later time.
But I can relate with where you are coming from you when you say you hate buying something to only get it home, and then realize the item is not as expected when you bought it. Sometimes for me, it makes me wonder if someone was just Lazy and forgot, or they are actually trying to cut costs some, and just forgot to tell you.

It does make you wonder. I did call the 800 number on the side of the cake mix box and they sent me the filling plus a few coupons. I don't normally complain but I was having company and the cake was supposed to be for them..the laundry thing I can deal with.....and even use a kitchen cup. But it should be in there! And you do wonder what happened. Thanks for posting!

It makes me think why my packages are always with something extra.
I always get extra parts without asking. I guess packing people are talking too much when packing....lol

I haven't had that happen in a long time though I do seem to remember it from when I was using powdered soap. I don't use it anymore b/c a repair man showed me how bad they can clog up the hoses and such on a washer. Strictly liquid soap now.

I've had that happen on more than one occasion and now usually keep one or two old ones in the laundry room just in case that happens. I don't even think it can be classified as human error any more as most of that type of stuff is probably done by a computer controlled production line.

I do, especially if it was something expensive, or that I really need at the moment. When it happens a lot, no matter what it is, I do kind of get annoyed. I get the Sunday paper every Sunday for the coupons, the TV Guide, and PARADE (I read the news online). But mostly for the coupons, because the money they save me actually pays for the paper itself. I don't know how many times I've got home with the Sunday paper and there are no coupons inside. Or no TVGuide. So the next time I make sure there are coupons, but then there is no PARADE when I arrive back at my apartment. So I have to check for everything, but then again, standing in the 7-11, analyzing the Sunday paper's contents in cramped quarters...sometimes I just take a leap of faith and buy it without perusing it at all. LOL

The laundry soap companies are trying to save money by eliminating that scoop. The last 6 or so boxes I've bought did not have one of those scoops in them. Thanks to my step mother who hoards the scoops, I got one from her.
If the soap makers would cut off the extra 5 inches of cardboard at the top of the box, the price of manufacturing them would go down and they could afford to put that little scoop back in there.
