Is your cat or dog a 'picky' eater?

My cat will only eat fancy feast (canned). He gets dry food as well, but it isn't his first choice. Since he is not overweight, I guess we indulge him. But if he doesn't like the kind of canned food that I put out, he will refuse to eat it. He will wait until I put out a different kind, even if it takes a couple days! The dog rejoices when the cat turns up his nose, because she eventually gets the 'old' cat food.

My cat doesn't like canned food, she eats only dry food...not very picky....but she likes dogs food and she is begging for something when my dogs are eating...
My dogs are very picky. They can eat dry food only if I mix it with dry liver treats...

Funny kitty! I sometimes wonder if the dog just has "cat-food envy" - whatever food they have MUST be better than what's in my dish! But maybe that is just pigs. (Speaking as a former farm girl).

We have a miniature schnauzer that will eat just about anything that hits the floor. She is not fussy at all and really likes any little "human food" treats we give her. We have three cats and they all like the same food, which is good and we have never really tried them with anything else.

That's probably the key: don't start with the other food 'options' and you won't have to worry about the attitude later!

Neither my dog or my cats are picky. With my dog, I have to buy only one brand of dog food, most others give her a skin rash, and then we have problems getting rid of it. People food doesn't bother her at all though. She's learned to sleep under my grandson's high chair in hopes that something will eventually fall off his fork and roll to the floor lol. The cats don't like human foods at all, they prefer cat food and any type is fine with them. Guess I should thank my lucky stars that the two cats don't like people food, they don't go on the counters in search of food...ever! Icould leave meat out and they still wouldn't go on the counter.

A male friend of my husband's would put the dog in under the baby's high chair (when mom was gone). Sort of his own 'clean up crew'. I am not sure that he didn't have the dog clean up 'baby', too! Not hurt the baby! He would laugh hysterically when the dog licked his face.

My dog is such a picky eater! She thinks she is a human and only wants to eat what we eat. She will eat dog food, but it has to be the wet kind of dog food, and it has to be the kind that comes in a pouch. She won't eat canned food at all.

What a funny dog! Mine would not be able to tell the difference between the wet and the people (food).
We only feed the dry because it is best to keep her teeth in good condition. She's seven yrs.

Our dog at home is nice because she doesnt choose at all what she wants to eat. whatever it is that we gave her, she accepts it and have it with all her heart. ;-)

I remember a good friend of mine had a persian cat called Snuttan, she is the most pickiest cat i know. She almost only ate cooked cod, sometimes she could eat sliced ham but often she would just eat cooked cod. Really nice cat otherwise, wonder how much all the cod she ate costs.

My cat Eddie loves, Loves, LOVES ham! If you open the fridge, and there is ham within, he will come running from where ever he is in the house!

Hello northwoods. I used to have a cat who is picky with her food. I always give her canned food like friskies. Then when I was about to buy her food there weren't any friskies left so, instead I just bought whiskas. She didn't even touch her food. So, I just gave it to the other cats.
