Do you spend a lot of money on body moisturizers that sometimes don't even work that well? Give a try to baby oil. I think I read about it some years ago and decided to do it. RIght after the shower and after patting myself dry, but not too much, I just reach for the bottle of baby oil and use it as any moisturizer. It really lives my skin nice and soft and costs much less. Better yet, it doesn't leave the body oily as one could think. Maybe it will work better for people with dry skin, but mine is not and it still works perfectly. Did you ever try this? If you did, did you like the results?

I have used baby oil to remove eye make up, and even very heavy clown make up. I do not like it for my body. What I have been doing this winter is keep down the winter itchiness that I feel after showering is to use hair conditioner on my body. I use a very cheap product, and just very lightly soothe it on my arms and legs especially, because they have dry skin. I got the idea because people say to shave your legs with conditioner, and I also wondered what the moisturizers were in those expensive body wash products. I generally use the least expensive bath and body products I can find, so I do not spend a lot of money on them. I do believe that it is better moisturize in the shower or just after, because it seals in the moisture. I do especially like the gel baby oil in lavender fragrance to put on my feet before I put on my socks.

I use vinegar in the summer, as it really cuts the oil and sweat, even on my scalp.I use a little conditioner on the ends of my hair, but not on the whole thing, as it makes my hair limp.

yes baby oil is also good to remove make up, but I usually like to use a cream like nivea for that. I don't use hair conditioner much because my hair is a bit oily and I noticed that it gets worse when I use conditioner. But a bit of vinegar mixed up with water works really well for my hair. Better than any conditioner I found do far :):)

Not really. My wife has some for jake and his baths, she fills it up to much but it doesn't cost a lot. if we priced it up, i'm sure it would work out to be a great amount but still jake likes it, he's soft and it makes him seem like his just back from the hospital so I like it too. Lovely and soft for cuddles. ~Joey

LOL I know what you mean. Baby skin is just so cuddly :) I guess that's why we always want to hold babies. It has a special scent too, I wonder if it's actually like that to make us want to hold them and care for them :):):)

That's strange, one of the things I like about it is the fact that I don't feel oily after using it. Did you use it when you're still not completely dry and then finish drying? Well, in any case you found the one that works for you and that's the main thing.

you are exactly right. Baby oil and lotion are perhaps the cheapest but most effective moisturizers you could buy. I read that a long time ago and it really makes sense. It is good enough for baby skin.

It works perfectly for me:):) And the thing is that contrary to some of the expensive moisturizers I don't feel oily after. I know it sounds strange since it's oil, but it's true.

baby oil is great and definately a lot cheaper than all these expensive creams etc.the only thing you need to watch out for is the sun ,as it will tend to make you burn.years ago we use to use it at the beach and if you are not careful you will get a nasty sunburn from it.so nowadays i only use it after my shower at night time.

Yes maybe not to use just before going to the beach. Like you I use it when I take my shower at night, so I don't worry much about that part :)

I like it. I apply baby oil or vitamin E oil on my skin 5 minutes before taking shower. Heat from the shower makes some oil soaking into my skin, some is washed out. The result? baby soft skin. I agree with you, beauty doesn't have to cost much...

OH yes, baby oil works really well on very dry skin, but for the feet it is probably not the best. There are some creams that work really well for that, but the best option by far , at least in my opinion is to do the following : Every night just before going to bed, get some vaseline and apply freely to your feet concentrating on the hardest parts. Then put socks over , cotton socks preferably, and let it stay during the night. Do this for every night for some time and you will see the difference. After it's better, than just do it every once in a while.

I do like the results and because it is oil, not thick lotion, it truly is absorbed by the miniscule (very tiny) pores we have on our bodies (cept our feet where the pores are much larger) and results are satisfying. The cost of some of these lotions and moisturizers on the market are a huge waste of money because they don't even absorb into the most external layer . . . why? the chemicals in it are reacted against in the skin's natural barrier and much of the misturizing property is left to rub into clothes not skin . . . sharing the light and happy new year, Miss Erica Hidvegi, the Enlightenment_Advisor, B.A. Psych/M.A. Transpersonal Studies- Cnslng/Author, Artist, Photographer, Entrepreneur & Freelance extraordinaire

Yes, that is the reason why our skin does not get oily like when we use some of the brand body moisturizers. It really is absorbed fast and the skin just stays soft instead of oily. And you're right, some of the prices for moisturizers and lotions are incredibly hight. Happy New Year to you too :)
