It just occured to me does any one know how many fruits there are?

I was just sitting here thinking to myself and I wondered how many fruits you can get from all around the world? I can only come up with kiwi fruit, bananas, apples, oranges, grapes, cherries, peaches, apricots, watermelon, mango, strawberries, black berries, blue berries! Can anyone think of any more

i think there must be hundreds. cos each country has fruits that don't exist in other countries. probably due to the climate not all fruits can last long enough even to be imported.
i can think of starfruit, jackfruit, avocado, raspberries, cranberries, papaya, dragon fruit, longans, lychees, chempadak, durian, plums, prunes, pears, guava, honeydew, rock melon... and these are just a few!

Yes, you maybe right there may be hundreds of fruit from all around the world!! Although at the same time it interesting to find out new and interesting fruit that we all had not heard about! So in that case it is also an education to us all !! Thanks for the great response on all the fruits !!
