You Are Worthy!

It puzzles me to know that there are so many individuals who walk around the place as if they are not worth anything. You greet them with a smile, yet they return a frown. You ask them about their day, they mumble something negative under their breath and they hurry along. Now, I am pretty good at making people smile no matter how bad their day is going. I believe that one smile from a stranger can make your day a little more worth while. But there is always that one person who you just cannot seem to break; who thinks that since they are not having a good day, no one else should. This is the person that doesn't believe in who they are; that refuses to live their life to the fullest and just accepting life for what is "seems" to be. Listen, it doesn't solve anything to mope around. It doesn't make sense to stop your life just because you had a few minutes of bad luck. My life is not the most glamorous and smooth, but I refuse to let that put me down. I know that everything I go through is only temporary and it will not be that way forever. No one's circumstances should dictate who they are, so don't where your burdens on your shoulder. Everyone is worthy of a little happiness in their lives, but it is up to that individual to want it. Have you encountered people like this? What are your advice and/or thoughts? Blessings...

I think there are times when life gets to us and we tend to think things are harder than we can bear. I had a maintence guy at my college who would always say hi to students and smile at us, and ask how the semester is going. I used to stop and talk to him for a few minutes on my way to class.

Thank you so much for sharing that. We are not given more than we can handle, it is up to us how we choose to deal with it.
I am sure the guy appreciates that you would take the time to talk to him...stay blessed and keep smiling. Thanks again!

You have a beautful smile, one that would make me want to smile back.. yes, people do seem to focus on the negative.. why?.. I think for more than one reason, most practically, it takes more focus to change something negative than to let positive things flow freely.. also society (at least in the America I have experienced) we say we value health and happiness, but in reality, in everyday life, who get more attention, the person who is happy with all thngs going well who is also the picture of health, or the person who is sad, lonely, depressed, sick or injured?? our compassion leads us to actually give more attention to an unwell person, so if you need attention, negative is the best way to get it.. all of us are blessed.. that we are healthy and sane enough to sit at a computer and compose a message is a huge and multifaceted blessing.. we must concentrate to really see it for what it is, because it just happens, we don't have to MAKE it happen.. my advice is when u feel yourself slipping from happy, look for someone who can't do something you do easily, and think about how truly miraculous it is.. I aways thought nysef lucky (at least after I became adult in my thinking) to have grown up expose to people iving with physical handicaps.. When I think life is sorta stinky, I immeiately concentrate on how lucky I am that I can get out of be by myself.. it helps me not let anything less make but 'so' crazy lol.. for those of us who have 'happy' to share, I say, share it, and reach out if someone reachs out to you.. and keep on smiling.. we must remember that most philosophies, in one way or other, promise us that what we send out we get back, so send out good things and good things come back to you.. I work with the public and have customers who, when I first started there recently, came in all grumpy, now they come in and start smiling, cause they know I am going to smile at them.. brightest blessings upon you..

An abundance of thanks and appreciation goes out to you for your insight and wonderful advise. Based on my own experiences, I can imagine how that makes you feel when you know you have made someone smile. The idea of changing someone's day is absolutely incredible. Again, I thank you. Be blessed and positive always.

yes i think everybody meets these types of people. I think nowdays young people are becoming so much gloomy and they do not feel the same as before. Most of them are not certain what they want in their life. It may be the main reason for this. Its always nice to share your smile with someone to make the day brighter.

Thanks for sharing. You are right, the people who are falling in this category more and more each day are the younger generations. It's almost as if somewhere down the line, teachings of living with a purpose and being good individuals in society were eliminated from their lives. I hope this changes soon as life is too short, and we all have to learn to appreciate each day given to us. Thanks again. Be blessed and always positive.

I like how you put it by saying that we are worthy. I think negativity is more infectious than positivity. That is why I think so many people in this world are unhappy; negativity is infectious. I live in Southern California and I think it is really bad here. Everyone is in a hurry and upset with the world. Who knows why really? I have to say I'm guilty of letting that side consume me lately. I hate my boss, I hate driving, I hate grumpy people and hey, that's what I'm becoming! Your post has brought that to my attention. Thank you for reminding me that I am worthy! I'm going to share that with my daughter tonight..
