I don't care... this the sentence that i hate most... even if it said as a joke, sarcastically, with or without meaning... everytime i hear it, i feel hurt... maybe because in a world full of tragedy, it pains me to hear people say that they just don't care... Then i realized that hate is not the opposite of love... indifference is... when people stop caring... they stop loving... and when there is no love... then hope fades... I hope people will stop using this sentence...

I can not remember the last time I used that line, but more than likely, I was lying to hide my true feelings. The only thing that I hate more than hearing I don't care is when someone says, 'Whatever.' Oh that just steams me up. It is basically the same as I don't care, but it upsets me much more to hear the latter. I do not know why, it just does.

"Whatever" is indeed somewhat like "I Don't Care"... it was made popular because of the movie Clueless which starred Alicia Silverstone... i hate it when teenagers use that word... and they don't even know what it means... but it is also very hurtful to hear...

yeah, it is a hurtful phrase...but i don't think people think of it that way...you just inspired me to stop using it... though sometimes, i really don't care...that's terrible thing to say i know...we are becoming increasingly more self-centered by the day...what's in it for us? but at the same time, we've been cultured that way - helping others usually ends up doing you more harm than good...the classic example of someone getting sued for breaking someone's ribs while administering cpr to save their life... other things we realize cannot be changed or fixed or are out of our control...

Thank you very much if i inspired you not to use that hurtful sentence again...i understand that sometimes the best way we can help is not to do anything at all... i learned that from experience... thank you very much for the response...
