Have you ever written a novel?

Or attempted to? When I was younger I was a very avid reader and often wrote short stories. My best story was called Zaalia's Crystal and I wrote it when I was about 13-14. It had about 15 chapters and I wrote it mainly for my grandmother because I promised her I'd write one! A few people read it and said they really enjoyed it (although, they could have just been being nice!) Have you ever written a story? What was it about?

Yes I've started several actually. I started one in middle school and the other two in high school. One was started as an assignment for literature class. I turned it in a week late and ended up having to cut it off rather upbrutley because I just wasn't ready to finish it and ran out of time too - but I still got an A- even though I technically should have failed it because it was so late. My teacher loved it. That one was about an abusive teenage relationship. The first one I started writing was called Little Johnny and was about a family lives being threatened. The last one though was called Fantasy. It was basically a "what if" but highly out there future of what my life would have been like had I continued to date certain ex boyfriends and such. Stupid really but it was actually quite fun. I pretty much stopped that one though when met my hubby and found out what true love really was.

I used to write when I was younger. I find that I now do not have the time or the inclination to write. I used to write short stories and wrote a novel too. My dad wanted to get it published...but I was too shy! Most of my stories were about people and revolved around their different emotions.

I haven't really written a story as such, as I am not creative. I have tried to write a book about our family, as it is fairly interesting with a convict & Aboriginal ancestor. I have a lot of info, and have written 5000 words so far. But to get it all together in one book is daunting to me. Good on you for writing a novel at that young age.

I've tried as well. I've been told they were good, what I'd written, and actually let someone read anyway. I've just always wanted to write one, probably started when I got compelled to write a fanfiction story. Kind of turned it into my own totally original storyline.

Hi Roz...and happy new year. Thank you as well for the lovely greeting in my comment section...much appreciated. It is my sincere wish for you that you and your son transform the many challenges you have been facing during the past year or so into more positive, life affirming ones...you sure are due for a break my friend. You continue to remain in my thoughts and prayers. Anyway, on to the topic. No I have not written a novel...but I have completed a 500 page autobiography of my life and am considering marketing options. I have also written ten interactive 'self-health' books and we produce and market them at our seminars. You have a good flair for writing and wish you every success if you decide to do something more with it as a career path. Caring regards, Raia

I have written some poetry here and there. I wrote short stories when I was younger for creative writing assignments, but it has been awhile since then. I still love to read whenever I have the time now though.

I'm taking a course on writing for young children and my final assignment is to work on a book for children. It's a dream of mine and I really hope it will be good enough to be published. I have several short stories for magazines ready to be submitted, but I'm interested more in the book writing part of the field. I also love to read and I used to write stuff all the time, but I was too shy to let people read my work. I got over that over the years.

I write stories quite often. One is written but not yet illustrated. It is a children's story about an English Hedgehog that stows away on a shipping truck and gets sent to Kansas where she hopes to meet a nice family.

Yep I wrote two but neither one was good enough to be published. The first one I wrote when I was 15 and the second one when I was 24. I intend to write another one now that I have done more research and studied up on formatting and dialogue. I think I may actually dip my hand in childrens books.

Yes i did, i started writing one and it seemed good, i let a friend of mine read it and she said it was good too..I have it someplace but i do not remember where i have put it i know i did not throw it away though. It was about life in a small town. That was just the last one but i did start another one also,it was a short story about animals..I love to write, and you probably do too.If you enjoy writing there is a site called"constant content.com" you can write your stories and people read them and rate the and leave comments, if someone buys your story , they will pay you for it.You should look it up and join if you like to write. Also there is "Helium.com" another place that you can write. It does not matter what you write either..Its just a place for people who enjoy writing.I belong to both sites myself..

Hi coffeeshot, Let me congratulate you for having written stories at an age of 13. I think god has blessed you with some extra intelligence. Why don't you use that and write a novel and publish it. There are many new publishers and even reputed publishers waiting to get a novel from new writers. I am sure you can one published. At my age of 25 I have also written small stories and a novel in my mother toungue(Telugu) and all were published in Telugu Weekly magazines. After that because of my professional occupation I did not get time. Now I am planning one exclusively writing for TV serial. I am yet to complete that. I have got Rs.1000/- for my story called "WARRANT" as a second prize. Good Luck.

I haven't ever sat down to write a novel but I have always been an avid writer. In high school, I won tons of contests for writing- unfortunately I never kept up with it. My short stories are in one place so I can maybe put them together for a book?
