Can you boil an egg without breaking its shell?

In my opinion the secret is to set it -delicately- in the pot when water is still cold and to let it boil without bumping up and down, adjusting the amount of water in order to have the eggs standing but not moving around in the pot (U can also use a special egg-boiling device with holes to set the single eggs standing in the water... good bye

Thes best way to avoid braking the shells is to put the eggs in the water while it is cold or room temperature. I sometimes put a little vinegar in the water to keep them from breaking, works like a charm.

In my experience, I must admit, it is quite difficult to have the egg boiled and its shell unbroken when I and everyone I know put the egg directly in hot water. Someone suggested me to add a spoonful of salt in the water, but the result did not change, till someone tried this different approach to eggs boiling. By the way it is more difficult to fry an egg without breaking its shell... LOL Apart from jokes, I've seen an egg boiler for microwave ovens, you have just to await for a minute... But I think that the shell will be broken all the same. good bye and happy new year!

Well!!!that's strange!!! I have boiled the eggs a lot of times but the shell never breaks......!!!!though on a few occasions it did when i was uncareful in puting the egg down in the boiler !!! I can't understand you are searching for machines that can be used to for boiling eggs without breaking the shells!!!...strange!!!!

Hi, opinione. Yes, I can. Once I used to mess the eggs up. I will now put cold water in the pot and I will set them in there. Or I will just run water over the eggs while they are in the pot. I am getting better at not breaking my eggs once they are cooked from the pot.

Oh, is that it? I actually just started a discussion on this. Getting a perfectly boiled egg has always been a problem to me.
