If an 18 yrs old can fight a war, why can't he drink alcohol?

In the U.S. the legal age for drinking alcohol is 21, yet at 18 years old a person is considered an adult and therefor can join the army and possibly get killed in Iraq. That doesn't make sense to me. If they are old enough to offer their lives for this country, they should be able to take a drink.

I did ask that same question 5 years ago on another forum.
Not only you cannot have a drink... but you are restricted on other things as well.
I believe that you are not even allowed to buy a playboy magazine. laugh
This is when America's hypocrisis really show. But of course... it is not so much America as it is its biggoted christian church... which in many ways is not so different than the Islam religion.

i agree with you on this 100% the lagal age was 18 a long time ago i have no clue why they changed it they should change it back or rais the military age i prefer the latter at 18 you are still young and have not lived much life and i feel you should have that opportunity before you go to war, at 18 you are still shaping onto the adult you will become, they go iraq and come back completely different they havent had the chance to become and individual
