Is it right not to give kids mobiles before they turn 16?

It would say it totally right as parents/guardians are so busy now a days that they are not able to take good care of their kids and just give them more and more money instead of love and care which spoil the kids and among other things they misuse their mobile, do very long chats on mobile, play games and it affects their studies and overall development, however, if parents can keep a check on its usage then there is no harm but still i would prefer my kid not to take a mobile at least before he starts going to college. Will you give your kid a mobile phone ?

My son will turn 12 in July he has been asking for a cell phone for a year now. All the kids in his class have one. I have thought about getting him one for his birthday so when he rides his bike home from school he has the phone in an emergency he rides his bike alot of places and having that phone would make it safer for him.

We have told our daughter that she can not have a mobile phone until she has a job. That way she can buy her own and pay her own bill.I also think the phones should not be allowed to use the phones at school.

I totally agree that kids should not be given a mobile phone at a young age....Unless the kid is working part-time and can afford his/her own mobile phone bill, otherwise, they should not have a mobile phone no matter..
I will definitely not give my kid a mobile phone at such a young age, before 16

in this day and age i would want my kid to have a cell phone incase something happened.. my oldest daughter is only 6 so no i wouldnt go and get her a cell phone but in a few years of course i would get her one... if your are not going to be a parent and set up guidelines and make an effort of controlling what they do on their cell phone well sorry to say your not much of a parent... kids having cell phones is good in many ways... i think a good age would be 12/13 years old for kids to have a cell phone... thats when they start to blossom and go out a little more indepentily...
