Advice needed. Going to Egypt

Ive always wanted to go to Egypt and cruise the river Nile and have finally booked the trip. I dont know anyone who ahs been to Egypt so would appreciate any advice on sightseing,shopping,food,entertainment etc..
And do I need any special vaccinations before I go. Im travelling from Ireland.

Get yourself a copy of the Lonely Planet guide to Egypt. They are the best thing since sliced pan!!! when you are travelling, from the time you think about going they have advice and help for you.
I got one for going to Seoul in South Korea and it got me everywhere easily.
