Two year old freezes in a mound of snow

A little boy wandered out of his mother's bed in the middle of the night and opened the door to get outside. The child had left and ended up freezing in the middle of the night. Do you think that things like this happen because of the parent, Or do you think that the mother wasn't negligent at all?

It's really quite hard to say definitely, without knowing more of the facts. But I would say that it is not really her fault. She was asleep, and just because she did not wake up as her son left the house does not mean she was necessarily negligent.
