I usually drink one cup a day - ok it is a big cup - well over 20 ounces but I enjoy it. Some people have told me that I drink too much coffee.
How much coffee do you drink?
Does this describe you ????
**********************************
You know you are addicted to coffee if ...
You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
You sleep with your eyes open.
You have to watch videos in fast-forward.
The only time you're standing still is during an earthquake.
You can take a picture of yourself from ten feet away without using the timer.
You've worn out your third pair of tennis shoes this week.
Your eyes stay open when you sneeze.
You chew on other people's fingernails.
The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
You're so jittery that people use your hands to blend their margaritas.
You can type sixty words per minute with your feet.
You can jump-start your car without cables.
You don't sweat, you percolate.
You walk twenty miles on your treadmill before you realize it's not plugged in.
You forget to unwrap candy bars before eating them.
You've built a miniature city out of little plastic stirrers.
People get dizzy just watching you.
Instant coffee takes too long.
You channel surf faster without a remote.
You have a picture of your coffee mug on your coffee mug.
You can outlast the Energizer bunny.
You short out motion detectors.
You don't even wait for the water to boil anymore.
Your nervous twitch registers on the Richter scale.
You help your dog chase its tail.
You soak your dentures in coffee overnight.
Your first-aid kit contains two pints of coffee with an I.V. hookup.
You ski uphill.
You get a speeding ticket even when you're parked.
You answer the door before people knock.
You haven't blinked since the last lunar eclipse.

HAHAHAHA I love it, 20 ounces? too much?? ya gotta be kidding. There is usually 2 pots of coffee made everyday at my house, and I drink most of that, he does get a cup in the morning (he gets up before me! lol) And on the weekend when we are both home, lets just say we had to go with a heavy duty coffee maker, to withstand the constant brewing lol.

Here is the cappuccino recipe, it is a good comfort drink as well. I process all of these ingredients in my food processor until ground fine and mixed thoroughly.
1 C. Non dairy powdered creamer
1 C. chocolate milk mix (Wal Mart store brand for me)
(this is a powder you add to milk, like NesQuik)
2/3 C. Instant coffee--I had Folgers crystals on hand
1/2 C. Sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
I use two tablespoons full in a 14 oz. mug. It would taste good with a little whipped cream on top, as well. I am sure other spices could be used. Another recipe calls for dried orange peel.
Have a cup and enjoy.

You are right, they are comfort drinks. It is good to have a cup wen you are in a serious discussion, you can think a bit while you are sipping.
I usually think of my comfort drinks as having Southern Comfort in them.

I don't think all those are true. Almost all of it seems to be an impossible feat. I know cause I drink more coffee than you, on the average 10 cups per day and I have none of those signs. LOL.

I generally drink coffee all day long. I typically drink four or five cups in the morning and then two cups after lunch. It is probably bad for me, but heck you onl live once.

Yes, I have a giant mug...now today I had a big Dunkin Donuts this morning, then I made another big cup, but I did not get to finish it, one of my guys (I work with developmentally disabled adults) decided he needed my coffee more then I did and he finished it for me.
I agree,if coffee is our only vice..we should be able to drink it.

I thought extra large was the only size they had...anything else is a small and hardly worth stopping for. I didn't know they called it the great one.

I don't drink hot coffee once the temp is over 70..and I think we all know someone like the coffee addict, I used to work with someone who got 2 cups at a time, and went to the cafe for it at least 5 times a day.

I have to have two cups in the morning, but they are half caff. I recently made my own instant cappuccino mix and it was not decaff and it gave me some sleepless nights, because I drank it at work to keep warm and awake. I need one little shot of caffeine in the afternoon to make it through the fifteen hour days that I work and to not wake up with a lack of caff headache at 4:00 am. I have not read the all your responses, but I do have something to add to your collection. You know you are a serious coffee drinker when you call your spouse your coffeemate.

When your spouse is your coffeemate..I like that...
I hear you on that...you need to time it right so you can drive home alert but not be so wired that you can't sleep. I believe that we are in the same line of work so total alertness is important all of the time.
I got called in early on Friday...one of my guys had a Hat trick. He assaulted 3 staff within the 1 1/2 hours of his day program. You need to be on all of the time with someone like that.

I drink about 3 coffees per day and non of those apply to me. I don't think I drink too much coffee.
I have one coffee at AM, second at about noon and third in afternoon about 3-4 PM....
I am like energizer bunny without drinking coffee anyway...:)))

Wow...you are not a coffee drinker at all. My coffee is a treat, I used creamers and sweeteners and flavored creamers and egg nog. You go the rough and tough route - I admire that, I am not that stoic.

I have to know, where did you find a cup that big?!?!?! By my calculations you have a cup that holds my 5 cups of coffee, my largest cup only holds 4.

Dahlin' Deb, the cup (mug) I mentioned holds half a pot - my pot makes 12 cups at a time! I got the mug as a gift from some good friends.
BTW - that is not my largest mug by any means! I have one that would hold a pot and and a half (or half an urn) ... but I don't use it much ... it doesn't fit in the cup-holder!!! (-;

You are definitely on the low end of the spectrum. I often taken excedrine migraine which is full of caffeine - I guess that would not be good for your headaches.

I usually drink a lot of coffee everyday. I love coffee and it is one of my favorite drink specially in the morning. I take a cup of coffee in the morning, even in the lunch time, merienda time or dinner time. I will take also a coffee when I feel something unexplain to my body and when I feel stress. For me coffee is my vitamin for my body.

Okay, you soooo do not drink too much coffee. I thought that I was not much of a coffee drinker, but I drink at least 2 cups per day. Big cups. My hubby will drink a few pots of coffee per day. My dad drinks about 5 pots per day maybe more with the help of my mom having a cup here and there. Everyone I know has more coffee than me per day, so you do not drink much coffee at all.
Lol

My husband absolutely loves coffee, especially Dunkin Doughnuts coffee. We buy it by the bag and make it at home most of the time because it is less expensive that way. I usually have a cup of coffee a day with him. He feels like he is missing something if he doesn't get his daily coffee in, I don't. I do enjoy our coffee time though.
My all-time favorite coffee is from Boomtown Casino in Biloxi, MS. My dad found out the name of it for me once and I totally forget what brand it was. I do know that you can't buy it in a regular store. I did find in online awhile back and it was expensive. I always always have a cup of their coffee when we are in town and visit their buffet to eat.
