Hello. My kitten keeps scrathing/biting no matter what you do, you take her, pat her, when you walk she attacks your feet, if you just stand still she climbs on you (really hurts). There are only two moments when you can touch her: 1st when she is in deep sleep, 2nd when she smelled food and comes to you to ask/take food. When you touch her any other time she's aggresive Anyone know why? Thanks P.S. Kitten is female, 2 months and 1-2week old

It is a kitten, that's why! You have to train her that it is no good to scratch or bite you. NEVER play with your kittens with just your hands. Use a toy and show her that it is not acceptable by putting the toy in her paws every time she scratches you. Or take her to her scratching post.

We all have to survive the kittenhood, right? And then we miss it. You're right. There are certain things a kitten will just naturally outgrow over time, but don't offer a kitten your hand as a toy, unless you want pain and scars. The best thing I did with my new kitten was to buy her some inexpensive little chew toys at the pet store. Since kittens are teething, they need to bite and chew, and it really helped satisfy her need to do so.

Kittens are baby predators. Their form of play is learning how to hunt, so it involves lots of pouncing, lying in wait, and attacking with all their might everything that moves. It's exactly what they're supposed to be doing. If scratching becomes a problem, check out Softpaws (www.softpaws.com) - it's little caps for their claws. Safe & effective.

Hey I have kitties that came before Halloween too! That must be pretty normal, because when they're awake all they do is run, chase, play, attack, hide, then they eat and sleep and start all over!! One of them loves to come from behind and jump on the back of my knee when I walk past, so I know about OW! I'm just glad they use the litter box, that's one less thing to worry about. The last batch of kitties I had, seemed to calm down when they were about four months old. Then I could actually pet them and have them sit on my lap a little.
