Nokia doesn't manufacture batteries...they outsource it from third part battery manufacturers. Nokia today offered to replace as many as 46 million mobile-phone batteries made by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. as some of the batteries were overheating due to manufacturing defects.This is the reason.
