What is the price of Unleaded Gas in your Neighborhood?

My husband asked me this morning if I saw what gas was down the street? Being lucky enough to work right in our neighborhood (not having to venture out of our town), I said "no". We have a Redners Grocery Store and a Mobile Gas Station right on our main street and they were both at $3.07 on Thursday, up from $2.96 on Wednesday. I live in Joppa, MD, which is 20 miles NE of downtown Baltimore.
All I have to say is unbelievable. I know oil touched at $100 a barrel and then slid down some but this is getting crazy.
Between the price of gas price and the new taxes(sales tax increase, dmv titling fees, etc) our new governor put into place life is just wonderful.

I am in North Jersey, & it was around $2.99 on my way in this morning
With a republican oil man in office, it has no where to go but up.

My brother lives in Voorhees and they are always lowering than Maryland plus they are not allowed to pump their own. Is that the same for where you live?

I live in Sout Carolina and was out shopping with my granddaughter yeasterday and we got gas for $2.82 per gallon. That was a very busy station. But most stations had it any where from $2.86 to $2.99. There were a lot of stations in between. We need to have newer refinieris and more wells pumpeing here in the states. I read some time ago that there is still a lot of oil in Wyoming and that there is new tecknowledgy to get it out of the ground.

Where in South Carolina are you? That is where we want to move? We have been trying to move for the past two years to either Bluffton or Summerville.
My husband works for the cable company and we are trying to transfer with the company or he has even gone and interviewed with the competition.
But now that the housing market really sucks here in Maryland, we have missed the window of opportunity for a while. Plus I have one child in middle school who doesn't want to move then the first grader is all for it.

Gas in the UK is now over £1 a litre. That translates as $7.70 per gallon (US). Our prices have been consistently around 2 1/2 times the US prices for at least 2 years now. This is why you see fewer 4x4s, SUVs and large cars (over 2 litres) in the UK.
I believe that the annual mileage per vehicle is very similar in the US and the UK (about 12,000 miles per year), even though Americans supposedly drive more and have further to drive. I think many more US households own two or more cars, though.

Yes, a lot of Americans are still driving SUV's. My sister-in-law had a Hummer, I thought she was crazy. We have two vehicles (a mini-van, a small pickup and a motorcycle). My husband rides the motorcyle to and from work when the weather is not bitterly cold. We are seriously considering getting rid of the minivan and getting a smaller vehicle because his commute to work each day is 40 miles.
Yes, most Americans do drive further to work. We could not afford to live in the town that he works in. I think this goes for a lot of people also.
Also, our public transportation is not the greatest unless you live in the city. That city would be Baltimore, which has been voted the #1 deadlist city in the US.

You should consider yourself lucky. That's cheap compared to where I live. Here in southern Ontario, it's 1.06/litre which works out to 4.01/gallon. Compared to other places in the world, we're both a lot cheaper. In Belgium, Denmark, or Italy, it's over 6.00/gallon. It's time governments over here got serious about public transit or alternative to the the gas guzzlers we use now.

Bon Bon, I agree with you. Maryland's mass transit is horrible unless you work in downtown Baltimore or head to DC. If you go anywhere else you are on your own. We do have bus service within our county but it can take you up to an hour to go 10 - 15 miles because of all stops and the routes. Its crazy.

I am about 60 miles north of NY City and I noticed gas at 3.29 on the way home last night, it might be higher today but I was too tired to notice. I think it is unfair..most of you seem to have cheaper gas (excluding international prices)

Yesterday I saw $3.15 at a BP station and right across the street Sheetz was at 3.05 (Joppa, Maryland) but if you drove 1/2 mile down the highway it was 2.99 at our grocery store. I don't know how some of these dealers do it. I know the price depends on the region you fall in for gas, but I have never understood that.

Its $3.14 here just changed last night. This is in Appleton, WI. This is crazy I'm looking forward to getting my license but I don't think I will have any money left over with gas so high.

I feel sorry for today's younger drivers, between insurance rates, tuition and gas prices. Ugh. My oldest is 11 and I can't imagine what it is going to be like when she is ready to learn how to drive.

Hi neighbor, well kinda, I live in PA and the gas around here ranges from 3.05 to 3.09. The week before it was down to 2.99 most places, and it was lower on New Years Eve, it was around 3.02. Luckily, I work seasonal for the forestry service, so I'm on leave til March, which is saving on the gas expense, at least in my vehicle, he still has to drive 35 miles each way everyday. And as most towns up here do, there is at least a small grocery store within walking distance if it gets that bad. lol He was going through some old receipts the other day, and found one where he had bought gas last March, it was 2.59.

We got down to 2.99 on Saturday, yippee. We did travel from Joppa to the Lutherville area yesterday and it was actually a couple of cents cheaper. Lutherville is considering more affluent than we are. Go figure.

I have not really paid attention to the price of gasoline here, last time I saw was monday night and it was 2.89 a gallon but who knows what it is today. What I can not understand is why the price goes up as soon as we hear about the cost for a barrel of gas and it is not even at our pumps yet. As soon as we hear we can drive by and they are out changing the price when that 100.00 a barrel might be on a ship heading here but when the price per barrel goes down it takes forever to show up at the pumps for us. Something is wrong here, we are getting ripped off for sure.

Here in Finland it's currently 1.41 euros/litre. Converted to US measures I think it's about $9.40 per gallon if I calculated it right. It's very expensive here, but I don't have any other choice but to use my car cause there are way too long distances between places here and the best way to get around is by car.

I heard (just yesterday) that gas will be going up to 4.00 bucks, there is no way in the world we can afford that. My husband works 40 miles away and has to stay at his parents house on some nights because we cannot afford the gas. What in the world is going on?

I remember hearing that last year and it never materialized.
I really think our state governments need to reduce or temporary eliminate the gas tax.

I live in Lansing, MI and it's $3.02 right now. I'm originally from Detroit and it's usually a few cents cheaper down there. That never made any sense to me, but someone pointed out that there are a ton of state-owned vehicles out here in Lansing. That could explain a little hike in gas prices if the state doesn't care what they're paying.
